34 A/B

Ok, so it's looking like I got pretty lucky drawing this archery hunt with only 3 points (very surprised to draw it).  I know the area pretty well, I've seen plenty of pronghorn bucks around the units, just not very big.  Just curious if any one here have hunted these units for pronghorn.  I am just very surprised I drew this tag with 3 points, so don't really know much about hunting pronghorn, let alone in these units.

I know where I can find some so that's not what I'm asking about.  Just curious about others hunting experience have been in the area given that the units do not give out a lot of tags.

It's been 12 years since my father had the 34b muzzy tag. The one archery hunter killed the buck we had our hearts set on, he had a huge right horn with a non-typical left horn that resembled a ping pong paddle, I think it scored 84-85. We ended up killing the next best buck we knew of and it was 82-83.

I was planning on making a trip down to look for them soon, just for the heck of it. It has been awhile

Never hunted them. But from all the times I've drove through to Patagonia I've never seen anything particularly big. But that's strictly driving through on the highway. Find what you can find and kill it, and have fun!

Well, most likley because the G&F computer issued me a low enough number to get drawn.

Why are you always a smart butt? Why would you use your 21 points on an archery goat tag? I’m just curious. I would think with that many points you would want something better.

Thanks. That makes more sense. I’m guessing you had max points for that hunt but I’m not going to look it up. Congrats

Saw this guy right by the road just east of sonoita before going up the hill toward elgin road.  This ones kind of big compared to most I've seen from the highway.  Not the best pic, taken from my cell from the truck.

Awesome, that is one of the bigger ones I've seen.  I know which gate that is as well.
