I was putting my old knives together for a thread too.

I like that knife, the blade profile and handle, sweet. Looks similar to a knife I made my cousin a couple years ago from an old saw blade and an oak handle.FB_IMG_1586754424109.thumb.jpg.57d9f427cc8de3545701463d592d434b.jpg

This could be a cool topic.

Dad left me a big box of knives he collected over his lifetime from different parts of the world. Dont know if any are rare considered old or what not. they are some pretty cool ones regular ones and some extreamly nice hunting knives. I'll try to remember to grab some pics this week. was going to get a plaque built to display them all just havent yet. some look to be pretty standard knives that sold everywhere and some not.

Handle is raindeer . Classic skinner profile. Good German steel. Puma is making reproductions of this knife now.  I imagine the quality is junk judging by the price.

This looks like it. The type of steel isn't mentioned.

Western L66.  Not sure how old it is.  I bought it 12 years ago at a thrift shop.  Revived the stacked leather handle an put a new edge on it.  Used it on every hunt and animal since.  I like old high carbon steel knives.

Western Knifes go back to Boulder Co, 1911.  The name Coleman appears on Western knifes or sheath snaps 1984 to 1992.

My uncle sent me this Western/ Coleman skinner last year. He says his mother in law bought it new in Tucson in the mid 1980s when he claims Western had a knife plant there.0413201426.thumb.jpg.b27ea48764ec68b65ee535faac344713.jpg

Thanks for the link also Prdatr. Mine is 4th quarter 1966. When they first reintroduced the white hunter the price was alot lower.  And i like the quality of stag the older ones have compared to the new ones.
