ISO 17hmr

Recommended Posts

Wally World had a Savage 93R 17hmr for $199, Stapley and Baseline in Mesa. I didn't buy it because I already have several. I like them, just waiting for the ammo to get down to 10¢ a round. Maybe one day. It's been around 17¢ to 20¢ a round.

Only two problems I've encountered with the A17, and I have two of them doing the same thing, is the magazines (clips?😁😁) do not like to lock (click) in place unless the bolt is retracted first. Also, the special CCI A17 ammo cycles the best, other ammo may not cycle the next round correctly. I believe the CCI A17 ammo has a touch more powder, or a powder that develops a slightly higher pressure and velocity.

Should be a great yote gun though. But a lot more $$$s.

I have a Ruger 77/17 hmr. Love this gun. Predator killing machine!  Good luck in finding the gun you want.

Boarman I have the A22 (wanted the 22mag for a bit more ft/lbs for coyotes) and had the same problem.. talked to Savage and they sent me the newer style mags and haven't had a problem since. They changed mag design a bit sometime late last year so depends when they funneled out of the old ones and when you got yours.  And yes the A22 shoots the best and hits as hard or harder than anything else I have shot through it.  Anyway the mags are bullet proof for me so far! My son has the 17wmr and it kills everything, but I wanted to play with the semi auto so went 22wmr vs 17hmr. I wish they would make that 17wmr in that format. Great shooting rifle.

Wish you could do that at Brown and Center in Mesa!
