SOLD -- Leather Shotgun Chaps Saga

Recommended Posts

SOLD

Whoops. I forgot about these when I listed all my other horsey stuff.

I'm 5'8" and had about a 32" waist when I wore these. Probably would be considered SMALL. The waist size can probably be made larger with a bit of ingenuity, however.  They look about like the ones below. Smooth, fairly dark leather.

I will consider reasonable offers but no trades. Payment via PayPal (buyer doesn't need an acct; just a CC or checking acct.) or cash only. Picked up near 67th Ave. and Camelback or shipped at buyer's expense.

$40

Will do. Right now, I'm beating down alligators over warranty service for my malfunctioning AC. I'll try to digging stuff out manana. So stay tuned.

Came across this photo. Your newly acquired chaps and saddlebags in action atop the Continental Divide at Donut Lake in Colorado's Weminuche Wilderness with a couple 14teeners in the background. That's my son to the left when he was about 10-11. He's now in his mid-50s. I don't think I had the spurs on. I usually wore them only when we moved horses or cattle or packed trail maintenance camps for the forest service.

MulePackHunter is trading me some hard panniers for the saddlebags (just call him Tony).

I haven't tried the chaps yet you scared me when you said 32" waist.

I'm sure with a bit of leather and a sewing machine you can extend the belt part some to accommodate a more 'stately' size. 🙄

cant wait for the runway show.

Somewhere in my files, I actually have a slide of the late Gene Basset, who was the game ranger for the Bayfield, CO area when I lived there. I often went on a summer horseback 'patrol' with him in the Weminuche Wilderness. On one overnight trip, the tent leaked right over his folded up clothes. So the next morning when it was time to round up the horses, he hung up his jeans to dry and donned his COW shirt, his cowboy hat, boots and his chaps over his tightie whities. I took the photo from behind as he threw his leg over a horse -- bareback style for both of them.
