Poaching justice

Recommended Posts

Thanks for sharing. I'm glad they called out the TV show part.. in many of those shows there is either wasted game meat (stiff whole animal photo shoot the next morning with good light, or something fishy about the shot and all of a sudden the animal is dead or in camp and of course all the reacted garbage. All about the horns for some of those jack wagons.

Wow, that's crazy.  I'm form Nebraska,  they don't mess around with chit like that. Az would just slap your hand.

The quotes below are from the article. Lots of Lacey Act stuff involved. So it's not too surprising the penalties were quite severe compared to what an in-state poacher gets here or in most other states. In this incident the federal judge did really, really good. 👍

"And they sent their ill-gotten gains home, across state lines."

In the current case, the court found Hueftle and Hidden Hills Outfitters guilty of violating two federal laws: the Lacey Act, which prohibits trafficking in illegal game, and the Migratory Bird Act, which prohibits killing hawks, falcons and other nongame migratory birds.

Maybe it is just genetics?

:)

Big-game hunter Rod Owen with a giant mule deer was posted on Facebook page Sept. 25, 2017, and the caption said it was taken at Hidden Hills Outfitters. According to Owen's plea agreement, on that date, a Hidden Hills guide fatally shot a mule deer that Owen had wounded the day before with a bow and arrow. He also acknowledged that meat from the animal "was needlessly wasted and abandoned." FACEBOO
