Best mule deer taxidermist

Recommended Posts

If in Tucson I'd visit Lippert/Doyle taxidermy on Ajo way.  I personally haven't been there for a long time, but knew Dean Lippert personally.

John Doyle passed a long time ago, but he taught Dean the craft.

I'm definitely a big fan of Clay at Mogollon taxidermy in Payson for deer and elk. You'll find he is among the most reputable, well known, and popular in the state. Here are a couple he has done for me over the past couple of years.

Main buck pictured on the left. The one on the right was a different taxidermist who moved out of state.

2nd for clay. His work is awesome. I have pictures of his Muleys but they aren’t my animals so I won’t post. He has a mule deer and bobcat for me right now. Last year he did an antelope and a moose for us.

I trust Jim Hartsock at SW Wildlife with whatever. Chris Favour, Clay Goldman too. Henry Aguilar in Kingman did the nicest mount I have seen in person of a mule deer.

If you’re willing to travel out of state then Travis Roundy out of Glendale, UT does a phenomenal job. This buck tore up a bunch of velvet when he died and now you can’t hardly tell. He has a ton of pictures of his work on social media under deerbedead.

Wellers, Chris Harlow, lippert Doyle, and mogollon taxidermy are all very good. I've used them all with very good luck. I just got this back from clay at mogollon and couldn't be happier.

I've posted these before but I've been very happy with Clay.

Is that top left buck your archery buck from this year? Never noticed the double throat patch before.
