Loren had passed up a smaller 2 point at first light, he went on to see a dozen doe then finally around 10:00 am., jumped this buck out of some trees at 50 yards, Loren took his first shot at 60 yards, his second at 70, the buck did not flinch a bit as it ran out of sight over the hill, Loren did not know how he could miss at such a close range, he ran over the hill and after looking for blood for a few minutes found a couple of drops, he followed them for a few yards and found the deer.  Loren was using a remington .270
