Matthew Guerena 2007

Martin Guerena helped his brother get this buck and here is what he said about the hunt:
I spotted this buck at around 9:30 AM and he was about 2000 yards away. I still have no idea how I saw him. We moved to the next ridgeline to get closer and he bedded in somewhere on the hill. It took us 3 hours to find him when he finally got up and then bedded again under a juniper tree. It was 700 yards across the canyon and too far to shoot from so I asked my brother if he wanted to shoot the buck and you can guess what his reply was. My bro wanted to try to break the 100′ mark and I told him this buck would easily do that. He dropped off the canyon and headed to the same ridge the buck was on and waited for him to get up. At 4:30 PM the buck got up and my brother had a perfect 200 yard shot. The shot was perfect and the buck was down. We were 4 miles from the truck and It was dark. We got home at 1 AM this morning. My back and legs hurt, but it was all worth it to see how happy my brother was. His buck gross scores 109 7/8.
