Had the same issue also being paranoid of it killing us but in the Turkey youth camp several people had them and they ask me why don't you use one...it was cold and we have a Youth Elk hunt and some turkey weeks to come so want to be more prepare

I had the same dilemma with my son he is using a 243 (for javelina an Deer and will still use it) but this is the first year that he got drawn for Cow elk (he is going to be 13 but he is stocky and a little tall) ... He shoots well from a rest with my 270 ....so most probably he will go out with the 270 But i always had in my mind that the 243 can do the job specially with a solid rest letting him make a good shot (not pressuring the shooter) and a solid bullet 100gr probably the partition or your favorite

Do you spend the big bucks on Coolers like Yeti, Pelican etc.... or do you buy the regular Coleman products What do know what you think?

My 2 cents... Was hunting last year and got talking to a guy on the road and trying to to give him direction of an area on my Topo map and and he show me his Flat liner map..,...Dang what a difference!!... more updated and simpler to read and you can actually find roads Highly recommend them and will be replacing my old Topo's
