You are going to spend a lot of money to get another barrel, have it chambered/ installed and fluted. If it still shoots good just send it out to get fluted. This guy is a sponsor on Snipers Hide and is a stad up guy with quick turnaround. http://proprecisionrifles.com/pricelist.html If you are set on a new barrel.....Brux, Rock, Krieger and Bartlein are 4 of the top barrel makers. Filp a coin and as long as a good smith installs it you will be happy with any of them.

Is the 300 Blackout barrel for an AR or ??????? -
Very nice! I built my 260 on a long action for versatility. I have taken it to 1070 yards so far. I want to build another one in 300 Blackout for close quiet fun.

Maybe it's getting hot. It may have some sort of thermal protection on the motor. Where do you have it set up?

I got tired of packing my 15lb custom around on hunts so I decided to get a dedicated lightweight hunting rifle. I went with a Tikka T3 Superlight in 7mm RM. I topped it with a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 in Talley lightweight rings. It weighs 8.5 lbs as it sits with 3 rounds in the mag. Going to shoot 150gr Barnes TTSX's and have a couple pounds of Retumbo to start with. Plan to use this as a mid range (600 yards) elk and deer rifle. I really like the feel of this rifle and hope is shoots as good as others I have seen. I plan to put it in a McMillan Gamescout eventually.

It is hard to find any info on the Superlights. I found a post from a guy that e-mailed Sportsmans back in 2012 and these are the calibers they listed as available in the Superlight....223, 22-250, 308, 30-06, 7mm RM and 300 WM. They might have made more available since then.

I have 1lb unopened that I don't need. A buddy picked it up on a whim so I could load him some 223's.......needless to say it has sat on my shelf ever since. I'll take 25 bucks for it. Im in Apache Junction but will be in Heber next weekend if you are willing to come get it.

+1 for Industrial Metals in Phoenix. I got a 12"x12" 3/8" thick for 25 bucks, a full size IPSC'ish torso target 1/2" thick for 120 bucks and bought a 6" round 1/2" thick and made a hostage flapper for the torso.

They still make it. I saw a post on another forum where TGSS had 40-50 8 pounders in stock last week. Of course I didn't see it and it sold out in 20 minutes.

I have 2 unopend 1lb cans of Varget that I want to trade for the same amount of H4350. Not interested in anything else. Thanks.
-
Thanks, but I tried IMR4350 and my rifle didn't like anything over the lowest charge. Funny how it shoots with H4350. Thanks.

Always anchor your safe. Sorry about the theft. I hate thieves. -
I thought about waiting for the Vultures to come out but I called Vortex and the guy I talked to said mid to end of February for a release date. I need a new pair before my javelina hunt and decided on just going with the Vipers. I wasn't to fond of the weight of the Vultures anyway. I ended up ordering a demo set from camera land for 549 bucks.

Just like the title says. Must be in excellent condition.
-
TTT............ Will trade for some 6.5mm 140gn Amax's.
-
Just like the title says, great condition with 1" inserts. Rings are normally 60 new and inserts are another 15. 0.840" tall. How about 50 bucks.............55 if you want them shipped.
-
Harris 9-13 swivel with notched legs. Also has short steel lock lever. Great condition, been on 2 hunts and some bench shooting. Got an Atlas so no longer need this one. 95.00 Listed elsewhere........will go by timestamp on first "ill take it".
-
Awesome setup. Go with HSM like the others said but you will probably be buying some reloading equipment if you get serious. As for bipods I would say a Harris swivel model or an Atlas. I shoot off bipods in the field so that is how I practice. Good luck and safe shooting!

Check gunbroker too. I picked up a 7mm for 200 bucks for my build.

I don't have a chrono. I thought they would be faster but the three distances I dialed were spot on. I worked these up for my deer hunt and was running out of time so I settled on a load so I had time to check dope and get some practice in. After my hunts I will be changing to 140 Amax's for target and coyote smashing.
-
Finally got a chance to check dope out to 500 the other day. Found a place to set up and it ended up being 515 yards. The plan was to guess on my velocity, shoot a group and make a correction based on that group. I put 2800fps in shooter and it told me 8.2 minutes. To my surprise, my 3 shots were spot on for elevation but the wind was blowing pretty good so they were 15-18" to the left. I dialed 3 minutes of wind and was going to shoot another group at the wood target but decided to go right to the steel. First shot connected but the right side D ring let loose and the plate hung at an angle. It was still facing me so I sent another 4 rounds. I was hoping for atleast MOA but the wind was gusting and I think I rushed myself out of excitement. After the 5 shots I let the rifle cool and ranged a football sized white rock on a hill side @ 460. I dialed what shooter said and hit about 3" right......the second shot hit dead center. I ranged another rock @ 415 and center punched it first try. This pic is from the targets looking back to where I was shooting from. There is a small sliver of brown in the center to the left of the road. I shot from there prone in the bed of my truck. This was how the target looked after the D ring let loose. Rifle is a 260 and I was shooting 120gr Barnes TTSX.
