I wouldn't shoot a forky. the scope is narrow. this was intended to see opinions on short range primitive and long range technical. This was not intended for you to give your view on great shots. you can create your own poll for that. Then why the difference in deer? If your intentions were to find out how many choose a modern way of killing v.s. a primitive way then you need to make everything else equal. The deer needs to be the constant and the weapons need to be the variable. If the deer was big enough to take than the bow kill would be the most rewarding. You also need to realize that while many hunt deer, it's not their favorite game to chase. I gave my opinion on the subject and like a Hillary, you had to be a b!tch about it because it didn't fit within your narrow view.

I had a tag in 8 and was my first attempt at a bull and archery. I had a muzzleloader cow tag last year and we were in them every day, but that wasn't the case this year. It was so hot they watered at night and I never caught up with them. I heard a group move through a couple hundred yards away with about 5 minutes of shooting light left and heard a group in the distance as I arrived at a water hole 45 minutes before light. I followed track for hours but the ground was so dry that it took forever to gain ground while being half way quiet. In the mornings we found fresh track over our four wheeler tracks from the night before. I did bump a group of Javelina off a hill by a water hole and had one show up at last light. I had a lot of fun though and found some cool new areas. I have a buddy with a rifle cow tag and hope he has better luck.

I've wanted a chassis for hunting for a while but none of the lighter weight ones turned me on. I just saw this new offering from Christensen Arms and really thinking about it. They are only available in 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor for now but heard they may add more and also intended to sell the chassis by itself. My Tikka 14 twist loved the Hornady Superformance 50gn Vmax's so thats the bullet I used for load development. I ended up at 37.5gn of Varget in Hornady cases @ 3980 fps. I soon found out that the Hornady brass doesn't hold up and new primers would just fall out. A switch to Lapua brass landed me at 36.9gn of Varget but I still need to figure out my velocity. Whatever combo you end up using you will love it. Absolute hammer on coyotes.

I had that hunt along with my uncle's buddy last year. I killed the second morning and the other guy killed the second night and we recovered it the third morning. We were in them every day and bumped quite a few when looking for a dead one. I have the late archery bull tag in 8 this year and hope to have simular activity. We will see though.

I made this rifle rack for my safe but have out grown it. I really need a bigger safe but for now I will have to look for a different solution. It holds 5 rifles and swivels out to the side. When empty and swung out it can be easily removed by lifting it off the hinges. The hinges bolt through the inside door jamb and are very low profile. I built this for my safe specifically (Yukon Gold) and realize it may not be a direct bolt on to a different brand safe. If you have the ability, it can easily be adapted to work as long as your safe has the appropriate area to bolt the hinges to. Just for reference the opening in my safe is 23.5", depth is 20" and the door jamb where the hinges bolt to is 1.75". If you think it may work you are welcome to take it and try it out. Pay me if it works out or return it. Asking 75 bucks. Located in Apache Junction.

You are correct. I had Ross Outdoors swap a cam on my Drenalin last year. It cost 125 but they charged me 100 and kept my old cam since I didn't need it. It took around 3 weeks for the cam to arrive once ordered.
