This is the second year I've watched this buck, and I believe he has grown a little bit. The picture of him in velvet is the most current (September), the picture of him where he is hard horned is from January. Score away fellas, Im guessing him right at the 100" mark.

As of late, I've been seeing more and more interest in regards to our Arizona Jaguar. I was fortunate to have the Jaguar come by my personal trail camera on May 29 and May 31, 2013 and my camera took over 20 pictures of the Jaguar. I apologized that the photos are edited, however, the reason for this is to not compromise the location. Please enjoy, and no negative comments, I've shared pictures before and had negativism, aka HATERS. P.S. Lance, Jack Childs, and UofA are not the only ones getting Jaguar pictures. Many hunters are getting pictures of him, but many are fearful of the implications that the Jaguar can pose to our hunting privileges in Southern Arizona and therefore won't share. A proposed Jaguar Sanctuary/Corridor if implemented would close hunting to all Units South of I-10 from what I've been told.

Not the best picture, but still cool. You can see the Lion has the deer by the throat. I know its a Coues because that is the only deer species in the area.

I just love getting Mountain Lion pictures on my trail camera, especially when I get 3 per picture!

I'll be looking for this guy this year, I think he'll definitely be over 100 inches.

Cool bear pictures from the trail camera me and my buddy set up about 6 weeks ago. Bears love water when it gets hot in Arizona!

In the case of my pictures I got lucky. I put my camera on a water source like I always do and bam he came by twice. Like you said, sometimes someone has got pictures of him before and continues to get pictures of him at the same location. Like myself I believe many who have gotten pictures of this male Jaguar did so by accident. I can tell you that I never put out my cameras to get pictures of the Jaguar, it just happened, and I think that can be said for most others. You are correct Jaguars do have a unique spot pattern like a fingerprint and out of the 20+ pictures I have of him, I have compared it to pictures that others have taken and it is the same Jaguar. This is how we know there is only one here at the time. Trust me if there was another around the same area someone would have already got pictures of it and figured out it was a different Jaguar based on the spots, and it probably would make the news.

I think your on the money, I have my suspicions and I am thinking that there may be more Jags in AZ and NM. However, we currently only know of this one single male, and the previous 2 Jaguars, Macho A and macho B were single male Jaguars also. Male Mt. lions and Male Jaguars have been known to have home ranges that can exceed 100miles. It is theorized that male Jaguars such as this present one, can be pushed out by other male Jaguars and forced to find there own territory. If there are more Jaguars in the U.S. we have yet to find out. Time will tell.

Lance, I stand corrected. Great information btw, I was not aware that such data existed, I was going off of what I had been told by someone. Regardless the occurrence of a female in Arizona is not likely since there has not been a female documented in many years unlike male Jags. It is possible that there are multiple Jaguars within AZ and NM, however, there is only one currently which is a male that is known of, which you have got many cool pictures of.
-
Not a female. This is the male that everyone has been getting pictures of, which I am able to determine based on his spots. I believe there has only been 1 female heard of in the last 100 years in Arizona, the story goes something along the lines of a man who legally killed a female Jag in the white mountains in 1957, however, was it a naturally occurring female or was it imported from Mexico to then be hunted with hounds, which the guy had (he was a hounds-man)? In any case a female has not been documented ever roaming the hills and slopes of AZ, unlikely the many male Jaguars that have been. Mexico is the only place were you will find females.

Yea, look at my other post on the trail camera forum.

I also love the cinnamon!! This spot does have water year round, it is a natural spring/seep that comes out of the rock. -
....and a bad place for hunting deer! Actually these a great spot for deer! I've got some good bucks on camera. If you think about it, there is a lot of lions in these areas because there is an abundant deer population (for the time being).
-
Not the same spot. Two completely different units.

I just tried fitting my 15x56 Vortex Kiababs and the top wouldn't close, therefore, I don't think they would fit. This bino systems was designed for most 10x42 and 12x50 binoculars.

Actually that buck in my Avitar is about 100 miles West from were most of my lion pictures are, so I think he's safe. However, I hear you, and I'm always looking for a lion to kill. I killed my first lion this March.
