    Glow Worms in az

I had a friend that said he saw them on his regular trips to big lake. I know Green glowing things is something you see a lot around smallville
  3. I am in the market for a new varmint rifle. Mainly to use on Prairie dogs, Yotes and such. Lots of potential shots of little prairie dogs out to 200 or more yards. Never had time or inclination for such a gin before now, so opinions are welcome!
  4. As luck would have it, I will be in the Phoenix area for work this week, and wondered if there is anything going on or something that has changed in the last year and half. that I should not miss. Any Gun shows going on or other things like that? I'm staying on the NW side of town, and I should have most evenings free if there are worthwhile events to take in...

    pronghorn scouting

I'm looking forward to the season here in Wyoming as well. I picked up my Binos last night looking out the front door and saw 2 bucks about 400 yards away! Usually they are not quite that close to town, so it got the itch going for the season to get here. Feeling a bit spoiled by the prospect of hunting from home, but I'll probably need to go a few miles when the season opens. OTC deer tagor maybe a antelope doe tag, and Elk draw (I hope) after that. Good luck to you on your hunt!

  9. 3 S's is what I lived by when it came to a snake in my path. Never been bit to date, but have eliminated quite a few. First one was one I stepped on one in a wash while quail hunting. After hearing it and realizing it was him or me, I used the 12 Gauge to cut him down.

    OSAMA or OBAMA

When you consider the choices America is faced with for our next president take the test. They are all social liberals and Obama preaches tax the wealthy to buy votes from the poor. and Change from the outside. McCain preaches Change from inside. Says no pok barrel spending and has the kohones to stand up to his party when it suits him. IF under attack, terrorist or from another country, who would you want to be commander in chief. The one that says we need to negotiate more and "Talk" Or The one who was a POW and has the experience with military, and foreign allies as well as enemies. Who would Bin Laden, and Ahma-bad-Jihad (Irans President) Want....

    Conference on lead coming up

What a bunch of horse squeeze. For years, we have lived on meat harvested with lead bullets. I should think that the modern bullets hold together more than the older ones, and besides, if you ever bit into a shot pellet from a bird, what is the first thing you do? Spit it out. Duh...

    22-250

I intended to buy a 22.250 too, but after a lot of research, I opted for the Tikka .243 Could not pass up the great deal on it either! My main use will be varmints so I can use 55gr bullets and if I decide to use it for speedgoat or deer, there are options up to 100gr. With the 55gr, it shoots flatter than the 22.250 so what's the loss? After I get a new scope on it, I will let you know how the Tikka works but I expect tight groups. I'll keep my 300 win mag for bigger game and use this for most everything else.
  16. No Doubt OwlGore will say this is a result of global warming.... Which came first? the Owl or the Egg? Seems to me these things cause more climate change than Man can.

  18. O Brother... These looneys will think of anything to justify their cause. I wish Global Warming was not taking a break right now! I'm flying into Denver tomorrow and it's supposed to be a high of around 32 and 4-6 inches of snow for the day.... IN FRIGGIN MAY.....

    What to do in Maine?

Too much time working so not much time sight seeing. Did get to a couple seafood places and the weathervane was a let down big time. Poor service and food was below par for what else I've had while here. Got down to the old town portland area and that is pretty neat. Historic shops and waterfront is a lot different than this desert dweller is used to. Lots of overcast and rain the last couple days so Planning to take a run to some light houses and whatever else I can cram in on Thursday AM before leaving. Thanks for all the advice and ideas. I've liked the "wicked "change in scenery but it's also gonna feel good to be home.

    What to do in Maine?

So much work and so little free time so far but I will be trying to hit some of these places. Still running in the 50-60's so beaches probably not in much use at least for anyone in speedos. I heard LL Bean was nothing special as it's mostly clothing and only the LLB brand. Still lots of brown dead looking foliage right now but anohter month I bet it would look different. Is that Weathervane a cahin? I see one near the Jetport. (That's what these people call an Airport)

    What to do in Maine?

Lobster and fresh seafood goes without saying. LL Bean sounds interesting too. It looks like it's in Freeport, north of Portland. I'm going to be south in Scarboro most of the time so a drive up the coast could be nice for a change. There is at least 1 hardcore fisherman going so no doubt we will try to find time for that too. I always wanted to tour a lighthouse so maybe I'll get to work that in too. Great ideas but as for socializing with locals, I am not sure the liberal folk would like to listen to what I have to say. Keep those ideas coming and I'll be able to build my wish list.
  22. Read how thye are trying to get hunters on board with the "cause"Hunters worried about "Global Warming"
  23. LOL... Lark, you always got a "real" take on things... You oughta go on that blue collar comedy tour.. Paint Samwiches were not in my sack lunches either that I can recall. When I was a young un, I do remember people tellin me to "get the lead out" so maybe they knew about it and were keepin me safe all along.
