  1. There is no money to be made if global warming is not caused by man. Amen Brothers! Global warming is being dis-proven daily. Now they call it "Global Climate Change" to keep the "fear of impending Doom" driving the money into the carbon credit companies (Scam) and the "Green" products. It's all made to make someone money and make most everyone else pay. The higher temps from the sun have a MUCH bigger effect on Ozone and Temps than man has ever had. I should use my PHD title and get some celebrities to join the cause, maybe we can make a difference too.
  2. I thought that Taulman guy was a wolf in sheeps clothes but I guess I was wrong on that one.

    Charleton Heston

Most of todays actors can't hold a candle to his performances as they rely on blue screens and special effects. He was a fine person. I have seen what a long battle with Alzheimers disease can do and since he announced iseveral years ago that he was afflicted, I have thought of him and his family often. Rest in Peace Mr Heston.
  5. Obama is scarey. Yes, He has denied muslim associations but he will not pledge his allegiance to this country. Shrillary is the EVIL we know. and Obama is the one we do not. I hate Mclame but he is at least 40% conservative and the other 2 are 100% liberal. As for the global warming farce, Follow the money.... The groups making $ from Carbon Credits, and Green This and Green that, is makeing them rich and doing nothing about the real cause of global warming. The REAL Cause of Global Warming is the fact that the world has less pirates now than ever in history. See it in the chart below. It's in the Chart. You cannot Argue with this since it is Scientifically sound evidence. By the way, I want to let you know about a charitable organization, www.morepirates=less global warming.yukyuk If we all donate 100.00 to the cause we can return this vital and endangered culture to the world and stop the world destruction.

  14. Will be adding a 22.250 to mine very soon. Probably will be the Tikka T3 lite or T3 varmint. I'm also on the lookout for an older saddlegun. 30/30 model 94.

    Best Choice for Varmint rifle

Okay, most of you got it right. 22.250 is what I'm looking for. I have handled a few and am leaning toward the Tikka T3 Lite. I'd like to try the T3 varmint model but have not found anyone that had it to handle. I can buy a new T3 Lite for well under $500 and the varmint model for just a bit over that. Have not heard anyone that did not like the Tikka and it has a record of accuracy and trouble free Performance. Has anyone handled both or do you have personal info on either of these??

    Range Finder

I like the Leupold RX IV . Max range of 1500 yds and has the ballistic compensation for up or down angle shots. Gives you the range you should shoot for. Not Leica but pretty darn good for under $500.00
  21. There are not really that many tags up here in Wyoming. Hunting is getting sooo bad and over regulated here that people are leaving to move to montana. Hey, I don't want everyone moving here! Seriously you missed the Moose, Bighorn sheep applications this year and you will even have to be here for a full year before you can get a resident tag. CWD in the SE part of the state was the heaviest in the country a few years ago so. Antelope are getting overhunted by all the NR's coming from all around and private land makes it hard to find a place to hunt. OTC tags are still fairly plentiful in certain zones so if you can find a good spot on public land you have a shot. All the BS aside, it's windy here and sometimes it gets bitter cold, but not for that long at any one time, besides Cabelas has warm winter clothes so it is quite tolerable . I've played golf here in Feb and November so it is not that bad... Hunting has seasons Sept-Oct through Dec and buy a tag, it includes the license. On the other hand, Spring, summers and Falls are GREAT with a 100 degree day about as rare as a 20 degree night in Phx. We actually do have 4 seasons and sometimes in the same day! I was a lifelong (over 4 decades) AZ native and I never looked back after moving to WY about 18 months ago. AZ was a nice place but about 15 years ago it started sliding south and it was time for a change. Sure miss hunting Coues, and the monster Tension that builds waiting to see if I can draw a tag. (half true) but hopefully I can draw one of those NR tags back to my former home someday. Good Luck on your move.
  22. Those groups have got their own camoflage pattern and it ain't seclusion 3d or realtree. Thier camo is cute, pretty pictures of animals and outdoor sights, and endorsements of famous people and "experts" on their websites and pamphlets. With the right pictures you could make Hillary or Janet Napoloreno even look cuddly and these whackos know it. (okay, Hillary and Janet, Cuddly... now I'm stretching the truth) But think about the poor polar bears. The real fact is these bears are only reducing in numbers in 2 smaller zones out of dozens, and they are thriving and growing in numbers everywhere else. But these whackos are furthering their agenda by showing a lone bear on an ice patch floating in the bay somewhere. They don't show the bear pictures tearing into a salmon, or ripping apart a baby seal because it makes them look "aggressive, and less like a victim". Once they get you hooked with a picture or a cute wolf or cuddly mountain lion they have you hooked, now a celebrity stands up and denounces those that would hunt these cute defenseless animals, and the hook is set, then people can struggle with what they want to believe and the experts that keep pouring on slanted and skewed statistics as truth of the environment and they keep on reeling you in. Whackos all of em. Don't drink their Kool aide!

    Long range rifles?

Casey Sshhhhh. You're gonna "Valerie Plame" me dude :o . Truth could be, My DEEEEEP cover black Ops training is still working ....
  24. Since the Yellowstone reintroduction from many years ago, many Unexpected problems have arisen. In WY, Montana the Greenies cite this as a victory and good example how the reintroduction works. Ssssshhhh I I'll let you guys in on a secret.... its the landowners, ranchers and hunters using the same "3 s" plan that has barely kept it to a manageable status. Just think about this, If things keep up, the next species on the endagered list will be the North American hunter!

    Long range rifles?

No problem. We all definitely appreciate your insight and opinion. I may or may not have been to the school but in a recent story on History or A&E a few months back, I recall the 300 Win Mag was featured prominent as they said it made a big impression when someone touched one off next to line of guys shooting 308's. One of the students stated they all liked the extra range it gave with accuracy. I did find a link the other day to a competition entry form for Ft Benning School dated 2007 Sniper Application Which stated the competitors would be using a variety of calibers up to the 300 win Mag so It could be a recent addition. No doubt there are lots of good choices for long range, and I just like the 300 for the most "standard" options and proven proficiency at the longest ranges. Now, you ask, Am I one of those guys that has been trained at the school? I like to say, I could tell you but I might have to make you forget it quickly afterwards from 1200 yards away.... Those custom made barrels & actions are part of the M24. So incredibly custom that Remington was contracted to build the rifles using a 700 action....so custom that only thousands have been made. The ammo you are refering to is the M118LR, a 175 grain sierra match king (.308) The M24 is based off of a long action 700. The intent, we were told (as students of the school) of the LA700 was so that the army could convert the M24 to a .300 win in the future. As I have stated in an earlier post. So far I have only seen a few navy guys using .300 wins. Infact they started using their .308s in iraq because the ammo from the army was so plentiful. If sniper students are using 300 win in school....then that is new from perhaps the last 3-5 years. During the school we trainined to shoot moving targets from 300, 400, 500, & 600 Meters day and night quals. We also shot unknown distance targets, where we were required to mil a known target size and determine the distance from the target. We then fired 2 shots at that target before being assigned a new target to engage but no targets were beyond 800 Meters. Infact, the army preached that the max effective range of the .308 win using M118LR out of our M24 was 800 Meters. We spent one day shooting at 925 Meters, just for the heck of it & I can tell you it humbled the the sh!t out of all of us. If the army has started using the .300 win (and all my sorces tell me they haven't....ie buddies still in the game) perhaps they are playing with 1k. A US Army sniper is expected to make shots at 800 M 70% of the time. There were no 1K requirments. Again, I don't know where you get your info. I believe you mean well, but I don't think your advice is based off of solid experience or reliable sorces. I know that I don't have a ton of posts on this site (but I do read it often) and I don't mean to step on anyones toes, but the man that started this thread is/was looking for advice before he spends a few, hard earned, fat ones. With that in mind my 2 cents worth is that we should all use a little caution when giving advice to someone who plans to spend their dough. I will step of off the soap box and go back to lurking.
