  1. I was just wondering if anyone else from this group went to the meeting tday? I had to leave just as the last public comment was taking place. I did not get to hear what transpired after the commissioners met in exec session or what they said before going into private. I did read the notice on the AZGFD site, but wonder if it overlooked something important. Comments....
  2. Buster I have read your posts and would like to urge you to go seek professional medical help... SOON. That brain tumor is obviously clouding your judgement. (Maybe it is not a brain tumor but rather a hemhoroid.) Your obvious medical and mental problems aside, your point about opening up all the states to hunters everywhere on equal footing is pure hogwash. Your real intentions are Veiled behind a thinly woven fabric of half truths and pie in the sky fantasy liberal ideals. In your world, all is right when you can get whatever you want as longa s you have the cash to pay for it. You may not be the richest guy on the block but you are certainly the one that would support socialism with you in the ruling class. Reading your tripe, One famous liberal line comes to mind. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one, or the few" A version of This quote is being passed around by the leftists and socialists everywhere. Individual rights are swept away in your eutopia where you not only have the money, but you as a ruling class elitest have all the rights. The regular posters here believe mostly that the individual rights for states and their residents cannot and must not be usurped by the federal govenment. The fact that we vigorously defend the state and all the wildlife as that belonging to the stqate should make that quite apparent. Most of us would agree, It is not wise to let a thief into your living room and feel secure just because your really valuable items are in the bedroom. Most Out of state residents EXPECT to have less chances and pay more BECAUSE THEY LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE! You should think about that and the next time your inclined to finacially support a cause, save your money and use it on a good cause. You deserve a shrink today so get up and go away to the phsyc ward...!
  3. Intersate commerce seems to be the driver here. Another case of the Feds meddling in the purported "good of the states". They shove these mandates down our throats and then step back and give us no support or authority to enforce the federal laws. Think back to the mandatory background checks for gun purchases mandated by feds a few years ago. they give the order but give no resources to get it done. Yet they Threaten states with fines and penalties if they do not enforce the federal mandates. Another one near to AZ is the continual absence of Border Protection. This is the national border, and they do not have adequate protection for the country to prevent illegal aliens and even potential terrorists from crossing the border. Once here, these illegals get into trouble and the state, city and county officials won't nab them unless there is a capitol crime committed. Small infractions and they go free to do it again. The reason is the federal authority, INS Border patrol do not have enough staff to pick them all up. Millions of examples of the federal fiasco failures at enforcing their own laws. Many more examples of similar problems with fed mandates, and thye want to shove this one on us too! I am thinking we should say not this time, but we better be ready to back it up! AZ may have to secede from the USA to make the point. Gov Napaloreno is bad enough but President Napoloreno is too much to bear. Taulman's & Montoya's USO crew has tossed a good system in the toilet and I hope they never get alzheiners so they can choke on their own puke when they grow old and look back on how they ruined a good system for all hunters, due to their own greed. Anyone got USO Targets for sale yet?
  4. Should be info soon. I left the commission meeting after about 1.5 hours of open discussion. I was especially impressed with about 3 or 4 of the hunters who spoke. The points these folks made pretty much were echoed by everyone else. In reply to a question from the final speaker, the statement was made that the commisioners were going to meet in exec session to discuss the options and return in an hour to let everyone know what the decision is for now. The tone of that statement told me, that they had already decided what the commission would do in previous discussions, but they were obligated to and hopeful that listening to public input would give them another option not already considered. The Decision SHOULD only affect the areas NORTH of the COLORADO River. The wole problem is due to the Feds implenting and enforcement of the Interstate commerce law. That is being used by many malicious suits and in general it wreaks havoc everywhere it is applied. About 150 or so in attendance. 12 news crew showed up late so may be a story there tonight. One more thing, there were hunters there who had dealings with this Taulman bonehead, and one guy who even called him on the phone yesterday after the ruling came out. He said in just a few minutes of talking to him that it was obvious he was not a concerned hunter but someone who only cares about how he can profit from the system. Taulman is a stinking low life scum sucking buzard brained puke from what everyone said and that is something no one disputed. His outfit is pretty much doing as he does so they all are guilty of poor character. Hunters who come here from other states can do so safely as far as I am concerned, but I can assure you that no one present today would have or will lift a finger to help this USO group if someone stops to string them up in their camp beside the elk or deer they just hung.
  5. Montoya and Taulman have crossed the line with this suit. Unfortunately it is likely to stand since it sounds like AZGFD did not heartily defend against it. We must DEMAND that AZGFD defend and APPEAL this ruling. Even though the 9th circuit court of RAW DEALS is the place it has to go we must insist that it be done. I have not read anyone posting support for the ruling, and find it odd that the court can rule this way when it seems obvious to everyone that states have an obligation to givepreference to it's own citizens. Non Residents do not pay anything except the tag fee and residents pay the rest. So in effect we are paying money to our state to protect and develop our natural resources so sone outside SOB can come in and take what we residents have paid to develop. This is SOOOO Wrong and unfair. Such a shame that 2 JERKS who obviously bend and break the rules to their needs have probably cost all of us a way of life. I know nothing about these guys except what has been posted here and on other sites but based on those posting with persoanl expeience with USO they are not in the hunt for anything but $$$$. I hope I never meet one of them. I hope they lose their business and everything they have as a result of the backlash on this ruling. Still venting I know but that is all we can do for now.

I missed a Bull in 6a back in 2001. I fear I may never get drawn agin for such a good hunt. Montoya and USO should be boycotted. They really screwed things up for all decent hunters in AZ and likely everywhere. JERKS
  7. Another point.. Some states do not allow guided hunts unless the guide is a resident of the state. This MUST be adopted. Many people have posted their negative feelings toward all out of staters, and I must agree that they will not be on my favorite list. That said, I think most of us could identify with the folks that go on an out of state hunt and "do it yourself". These hunters are generally responsible and should not bear the burden of the businessman guides like Montoya and USO. Treat the other guys like you would want to be treated. If the Lwyers of the AZGFD really did screw this up, they should be burried in ant piles and covered with honey. Disbarring would be nice too if they survive the ant hills. Pray for a miracle on this one since it looks like that is what it will take to save our hunting heritage.
  8. Today, I am afraid is the virtual dividing line between the "Good Old Days" and the Day we all hope will never come. " Well after reading ALL of the posts previous on the topic, my .02 cents worth is already said by many othersHowever, Using this wonderful board as a vent for my anger is all I can do. First, I will try to go to the meeting tomorrow. I work only about 5 miles from there so any input you would like me to carry along feel free to share. Points I would like to state: 1 I believe the draw is not "legal" until it is processed which includes notification, so letting us know who was Shafted byt the USO B will likely be difficult or impossible to get. 2. I agree that fees for out of state permits should be raised, however, the Guides should only be allowed if they are AZ Residents. 3. BOYCOTT USO... DEFINITELY. Post your thoughts and objections to what this one JERK Montoya has doe to alll hunters, and do not allw him to profit from his treasonous actions( treason to hunters everywhere.) 4. One thing we all are overlooking, is the impact this decision could have in benefit of PETA and Anti Hunters. All they have to do is get some daddy warbucks to break off a millo bucks or so and they can effectively buy tags to prevent others from using them. This has been done previously but with the state borderlines now gone, The bank Vault is wide open! 5. I think one option to not void the entire draw might be to review the data, and see where the 10% rule was a problem. For example if out of state apps for a particular unit were filled 100% those units and hunts should be valid. Go with the original results since there were not enough out of state applicanst anyway. Next, review the areas with less than a 100% draw sucess rate review and if needed re-draw only the units and hunts with problems. Many more thoughts on the matter, but trying to keep it civil, so that said, I must reflect more on the long term potential impact this will have on hunting. Someone once said, "enjoy this time because these ARE GOING TO BE your Good old days."

Well, I agree it is better now than say 10 years ago, but the main problem is someone at AZGFD let out a "possible" early date for the reuslts to be available. If they had just held to the stated date in the Regs, everyone would not have the combined mystery of the triple... "Did I get Drawn" + Where did I get Drawn" + the "When will they post the results." These 3 mystery factors have caused a great many hunters to "churn up the calm waters of the AZGFD website like a bunch of shad being chased by big bass on a warm spring day!" It is sort of like the lines at Disneyland. The signs say "if you are here, in line you have a wait of 1.1/2 hours" They know that the wait is actually only 1 hour. So when you finally get to the front of the line in an hour or less, you are happy you just spent an hour standing in line. That theory has worked for years with most theme parks and it could do the same for the AZGFD. I would like to see them post a date, and stick to it! UNLESS they have everything ready to post. If they find they can post early, put a notice on the AZGFD website to alert everyone. Use of Hunter email addresses would be cool too. They could just email a notice that results are in. Anyway the delay from the unoffical date of 12th or 13th has just given me more time to re-engineer the posting of the results process for them. I think they do a great job improving from year to year, but the waiting this year is killing me! I am definitely going to check back later cause Ernesto said they would be today, and his word is as good as gold to me. CWD members, KEEP THE FAITH Took so long to write out this post, I will go re-check the results, maybeeeee....

That video is soo funny. I think I have watched it 25 times and it still makes me bust up laughing. Just watching the doggy turn his head every time his prized "stick" fires another time is hillarius. Gotta run!

Okay, Okay, I think we have a serious infection spreading on the disxussion group. It Must be some sort of virus and it seems to be "Hopping" from Computer to computer. Just hate to think I might have to spend a weekend at my "Pad" just "Froggin" around inside my PC to free up a "GIG" or 2 of infected space. It is total "Bull" to think some "Toad" cause us to "Jump" off course on this thread. GROAN! Anyway I had enough of them hoppy critters from my youth. Had a regional Champion jumper too! He was smart one too! If the AZGFD site does not post the Draw results soon I may have to share the tale with everyone! Going back for 30 times plus today to see if it is there yet. Later

    Game cam misfiring

I am not sure on your set-up but on my homebrew cams I use a motion sensor from a security light. In doing this, it is crucial to make sure it does not trip when there is motion beyond the lens capabilty. I just mask off the edges of the Fresnal lens and trim the wide angle sensitivity on the motion sensor. I still have game trip the camera before the get in range but not as often as it did without the modification. Most game cams have some sort of fresnal lens that you could likely do the same with. Good luck!

I stayed up until about 12:45 but got no results. I think this is just like the old saying " a watched pot never boils" . Speaking of boiling, it is monsoon time again! Hopefully today we can get the water boiling and ready for some some Venison.

Still waiting! I kow as soon as the first person finds out, it will not take long for the site to be overwhelmed. It is comforting to see the site has not gone down with everyone here checking 4 or 5 times a day.
  21. Youth is wasted on the Young! Now there is a Realism I thought I remembered being able to get multiple tags. You guys are all describing just what I thought it still was. Although it has been a while since there were any leftover tags...
  22. That is waht I thought I was reading into the other posts, but I thought you could get 1 deer with each. As I said, never having bow hunted I needed the input. Since I generally put off y coues season til late hunt Rifle, I would not really have the opportunity to bow after rifle season. Thanks
  23. I have a question for everyone. I noted in several post threads where people seem to say that if thye are drawn for rifle deer, that they cannot hunt archery in the same year. Am I reading right? Seems it used ot be you could do bot. Not that I have gone for archery, but just would be good to know. Thanks in advance for not making me read al the regs to find out on my own.

    hunting videos

Sounds interesting to say the least. I think we have probably all wished we had cameras filming some of our hunts and this would be cool to see someone who actually planned for such an occasion. These deer have to definitely be one of the harder game animlas to film so any footage is all the more impressive!
