What an awesome bull! Makes me excited for my rifle hunt coming up in 27. Those antlers aren't as dark as a lot of the bulls that come out of 27.

That can be a tough hunt due to he number of hunts and hunters that G&F push through that unit. I hunted the late rifle bull hunt 4 years ago and saw some decent mature bulls when scouting but couldn't connect on them when it counted. Like others mentioned, there is a lot of country to be glassed. Good luck.

What are you guys with Tundras getting in gas mileage? I've been looking at getting a new truck and I like the Toyota motor better than the GM, Ford, and Dodges but trying to decide if the poor MPG is worth the stronger motor.

It's been many years since I was in there cow hunting, but we did see lots of elk when we were there. We saw some nice mature bulls. It was a fun hunt.

If I had to pick just one knife, the Havalon or Outdoor Edge, I would pick the Havalon. Having said that I own and carry both. I find myself using the Havalon more often but I like that the Outdoor Edge is a little bigger and more sturdy. The one thing I don't like about the Outdoor Edge is that I find myself pushing the blade release accidentally while using it which causes the blade to come out and it isn't quite as sharp as the Havalon. You can't go wrong with either of them, they are both great knives.

I have the 650 as does my dad and brother. I love them when the radio function is working, but we have had lots of issues with the radios not working very well. I do like it though, just wish the radio was more reliable.

Great pictures! How come it never seems I can find bulls out in the open like that???

I was up there two weeks ago doing some scouting and saw lots of cows. There were several elk that I was unable to tell if they were bulls or cows because it was so thick and just didn't get a great look at them. I didn't want to spook them too much so I didn't put much effort into going after them. I've spent all my time in the western half of the unit. I don't know much about Chevelon Canyon or the area around there. Sent you a PM

It sounds like the cow hunting has been tough this year. My brother had a tag in 27 and in 3 days of hunting didn't see a single elk, just deer. He killed a nice bull out of there last year and in the same area this year didn't see a thing. I guess the unpredictability and challenge is what makes it fun when you do catch up with them. On a side note its good to hear that you saw tons of bulls in 4A. I have a late season bull tag and hope to be able to find them this year after getting skunked last year.
