    calling in bucks with does

That is exactly my thoughts and experiences. If they got what they want (does) then they are content. I know if I had my mind set on five tails that are hot, nothing is going to get my mind off them.

    Accuracy with broadheads part 2

You are shotgunning with your comment, "EVERYONE" is not saying that! The guy brought this up cause he was having trouble with his bow. There is a technique called the "walk back" technique. It involves your arrow rest adjustment, WHEN NEEDED. I believe this was an attempt on his part to use this technique.

    Do grunt calls work?

50-50% chance, no guarantees. If you have one I would try it.

    Accuracy with broadheads part 2

YES that is correct, the sight moves in the same direction as your arrow impact from point of aim, the arrow rest is opposite arrow point of impact. But you only move the rest to fine tune any difference between min./max. yardages pins. All other adjustments sould be done with the sight. For example, you have a low left impact @ 20 yds. Move sight down and left to center the shot @ 20 yds. Then go back to 30 yds. shoot an arrow, adjust elevation with 30 yd pin only. Dont worry so much about left to right at this point. (do the same with each progressive yardage pin) Thus you have established pin gap that shouldn't be changed! Next do the walk back center shot. If you have a great amount of left/right grouping, adjust the sight. If you have fine adjustments to make adjust the arrow rest. Once you have made some adjustments to center @ max. yardage. Go back to 20yds and you should have a better point of impact then originally. If not you may have some canting, torquing issues to work on with your shooting posture. If things are going correct then do the walk back technique again to verify all is good. This should have you dialed in by this time.

    Accuracy with broadheads part 2

I would recommend using your rest as a fine tune adjustment. You should use your sight to get your 20 yd. zero. Then as you "walk back" and the arrows veer to the left or right, assuming all pins are adjusted vertically, you fine tune it with the rest. So that your rest is holding the arrow centered to your sight downrange. Then when you go back to 20 it should be a better zero. Also I avoid making any adjustments when conditions are less than desirable. Your bow should have a recommended center shot for the arrow rest, start there. Once you start adjusting the rest, anything more than 1/8" in either direction is excessive IMO.

    Accuracy with broadheads

"WALK BACK TUNING" is more for finding proper center shot, if you have proper form and grip. It doesn't tell you how your bow/arrow are tuned. This method is great as a secondary method after achiving bullet holes through paper, IMO. 1. tune arrows, spin test 2. tune through paper, with broadheads 3. walk back to find center shot, out to your max. yardage. 4. practice, practice, practice. 5. have plenty of spare fletchings, you will need them as they get shaved off

    Accuracy with broadheads

Put the target at least 3 ft. behind the sheet of paper. Then stand 6 ft. infront of the sheet of paper. Shoot straight through the paper. Easton archery has an online tuning guide that can tell you what each tear represents and how to resolve it. Hope this helps.

    Accuracy with broadheads

I would recommend tuning your bow, shoot it through paper with broadheads. This will show you how your arrow is leaving the bow. Once you are shooting bullet holes then go for the advice given above. Just cause your arrow rest, sight and string are in alignment it doesn't mean your arrow is leaving the bow properly. With field points the fletches do a better job correcting arrow flight than with braodheads. This is why it is more noticable while shooting broadheads. 8 times out of 10 it is improper bow/arrow tuning that results in poor broadhead flight. The other two are cheap broadheads and bad grip, bow torque. GOOD LUCK

Take a look at HOWA 1500, not sure if it is offered in a .308 or not but the are good affordable rifles worth looking into.

    Arrow Speed

Why? Not stirring the pot, but that is a poor shot choice. "Not stirring the pot" hmm... He was right in front of my face, I spend alot of time shooting my bow and knew I could make that shot. I took the BEST shot I could and I nailed it! If you don't like it, I don't care.

    Arrow Speed

I agree 100% BigBfever, I would worry more about FOC and spine when selecting a broadhead weight than the actual broadhead weight itself. My total arrow weight is 352 grns. with a 75 gr. tip. spines out great on my setup. Arrow speed is 302 @ 28" draw 70 lbs. draw. Killed two bucks with this setup. One deer it hit both shoulders and stopped after just cutting the hide on the opposite side 52 yds away. The other was about 19-20 yds blew clean through quartering towards me. Entered just behind the front shoulder catching the rear on the lung and exiting on the opposite side rump. Basically diagonally throught the deer.

    baiting,salt

I do not agree with baiting deer with actual deer feed and then acting like you are hunting them over the dinner table. At the same I don't see salt as BAIT. However hypocritical it may sound that is how I feel. I have used salt for a couple years and NEVER harvested a deer from these sites. I used them for "scouting tools" to show what type of activity is in the area. I have found that sit on your a$$ and glass to be an effective tool....OH better not say that, they may make that illegal too....!!! All I can say is GOOD LUCK enforcing this one guys!!! All that has been done by most hunters is done on HONOR. Out of respect for the very animal of which we harvest. Now a rancher has the sole right to "BAIT" game with salt....some of which also guide hunters for additional income. B.S. If they have the right so do I!!!!!!!

San Carlos Reservation, Navajo Nation Reservation
  20. We had a great time hunting this year. After four days of hunting the area ended up taking this buck @ 400 yds with .243 95 gr. berger VLD. It was great weather and met a few new friends along the way. Jake
