Bill, I appreciate the kind words and the confidence. The Nikon Monarch 12x56 is a nice glass, a bit heavy and cumbersome, but a nice glass. At that price level it is the best choice if you need something that bright. Personally I would go with the Nikon Monarch 12x42 in that price range because the size and weight feel much better. IMHO if I do not enjoy the dynamics of the glass I tend to not enjoy using them, therefore, why bother with them? For a few more dollars you can get into the Minox 12x52. Now that is a great glass and probably a top "under $1000.00" 12x binocular. Please feel free to give me a call to discuss optics.
