Zeiss Expands Line-up with New Thermal Imaging Cameras "With the introduction of the DTI 1 and DTI 4, ZEISS is unveiling two new thermal imaging cameras for hunting. The ZEISS DTI 3 GEN 2 builds upon the DTI 3 thermal imaging camera which was first introduced in 2020. The ZEISS DTI family have several features in common including intuitive ergonomics and ease of use, an exceptional viewing experience, as well as sophisticated power management, and seamless connectivity with the ZEISS Hunting App. “With the new DTI 1, DTI 4, and the second generation of the successful DTI 3, we offer a complete line of thermal imaging cameras for all hunting applications and at a variety of price points,” reported Constantin Klug, Category Manager for Hunting at ZEISS.
Thermal imaging cameras are an essential piece of hunting gear that help make hunting safer and more successful. The entry level model, the ZEISS DTI 1, is a compact and lightweight thermal imaging camera with features such as Transition Zoom, which enables uninterrupted observation thanks to the continuous zoom effect, as well as personalized settings. The camera comes with a new detection mode and eight color modes for your customization. With 0.5 zoom increments, it offers the ideal combination of zoom and detail recognition for reliable identification. The new ZEISS DTI 1 is available in two different focal lengths: the DTI 1/19 with a field of view of 72 ft at 100 yds, and the DTI 1/25 with a field of view of 55 ft at 100 yds.
“The ZEISS DTI 3 GEN 2 builds upon the DTI 3 thermal imaging camera and offers a significant upgrade in terms of hardware and software features. The new image processor and AMOLED display delivers an advancement in image quality for a remarkably detailed and sharp image,” noted Klug. In addition to the performance features of the DTI 1, the DTI 3 GEN 2 also has other features, such as the movement alert, which emits a visual signal when a heat source moves, or practical shortcut keys, which enables a fast feature operation without the need to go into the menu. The DTI 3 GEN 2 comes in two focal lengths: the DTI 3/25 with a detection range of 1,017 yds, and the DTI 3/35 with a range of 1,422 yds.
“With the DTI 4, we’ve taken image quality to another level to help hunters identify game even more accurately and reliably than ever before,” Klug said. Building on the features of the DTI 3 GEN 2, the DTI 4 is highlighted by its high resolution 640 x 512 px sensor with 12 μm pixel pitch. “This delivers superior image quality at all zoom levels and increased detection range – for enhanced detail recognition and a sharp, high-contrast image, at longer distances.” For this reason, the DTI 4 is available in two focal lengths: the DTI 4/35 and the DTI 4/50 with a detection range of over 2,000 yds for both models."

Eyepiece locking mechanism
Kowa's standard eyepiece bayonet mount has been passed down to these new spotting scopes with a new attractive feature.An eyepiece locking mechanism has been added to the mount to prevent the eyepiece from getting lost or falling out unexpectedly.
Magnesium alloy body
The magnesium alloy body made by a sophisticated molding process called thixotrophic molding has the feel and strength of a traditional metal body with decreased weight when compared to other large-diameter scopes.The rugged structure can tolerate the severest conditions and provides confidence and a sense of security for the user.
"PROMINAR" Lens
One of the major causes of deterioration of viewing quality in optics is chromatic aberration (color blur). Chromatic aberration occurs due to the dispersion of light and the different wavelengths of light focusing on different positions, resulting in a red or purple fringing around the image.This technology is the result of many years of optical design and has realized great reduction in chromatic aberration, while maintaining a large diameter lens and high contrast images when compared with conventional models.
The XD lens used in our TSN-773/774 PROMINAR models has characteristics similar to those of fluorite crystal to significantly reduce the chromatic aberration. All lenses are environmentally friendly Eco-Glass. (Eco-Glass is an environmentally friendly glass that does not contain lead or other harmful substances.)
XD-Lens
This lens has an outstanding optical performance and is easier to work with than fluorite crystal. When an XD lens (eXtra-low-Dispersion-lens) is paired with a concave lens with special dispersion properties, chromatic aberration is almost eliminated.The performance of spotting scopes with XD lenses is very close to that of our flagship models with fluorite crystal.
Compact
The telephoto lens design of using 5 lens elements in 4 groups has successfully shortened the overall length of the scope while keeping a large diameter objective lens without sacrificing optical performance.The adoption of an inner focusing system has made the prism box light and compact and at the same time decreases the amount of image movement when compared to conventional prism focusing systems.
The highly achromatized objective lens makes the scope as compact as a 60mm class scope without sacrificing performance.

Hawke Expands LPVO Offerings With New 1-8 Riflescopes
Hawke boasts their range of LPVO offerings with three new 1-8x24 riflescope models.
All Hawke Vantage riflescopes feature H2 optics. The new for 2023 1-8x24 models come with three reticle choices; L4A, Circle Dot, or Tactical BDC 5.56. Featuring precision glass etched reticles with multi-stage illumination in both red and green, these models are built on a 30mm monotube chassis with a Wide Angle FOV for maximum light transmission. The ½ MOA capped, resettable, fingertip turrets make for easy adjustments, while the 11 layers of Fully Multi Coated lenses provide a crisp, clear, bright viewing picture.
The L4A Dot and Circle Dot reticles give a clean and uninterrupted view of your target, while the new Tactical BDC 5.56 reticle gives uncompromisingly detailed accuracy for your 5.56 NATO ammunition AR-pattern rifles and pistols. The glass-etched BDC (bullet drop compensating) reticle features an illuminated center dot and horseshoe for fast target acquisition, and windage markers for enhanced accuracy. The Tactical BDC 5.56 option also features a range finding feature etched into the glass below the reticle. It is designed from a standard IDPA target size of 18”x30” when used on 8x magnification, specifically designed for common USPSA and IPSC targets used in competitions such as 3-Gun. You will place the baseline (lower thick horizontal bar) at the bottom of your target. The horizontal bars the top of your target touches will correspond to the distance of your target to the hundreds. For example, if the top of your target touches the bar marked ‘4’, you know that target is 400 yards away. These markers also indicate target width. Once you’ve determined your targets distance, the length of the yardage bar you are on (from the connecting thick vertical post to end of the bar) represents 18” in width. It is important to note that the bar marked ‘3’ should only be used for width measuring on one side or the other of the vertical bar, not both combined. The other bars are measured by their respective side.
Alongside these three new models of 1-8x24 scopes, Hawke offers three 1-6x24 models, four 1-4x24 models, and a 1-8x24 throughout their riflescope lineup, all with a variety of features and reticles including fiber dot illumination and the popular Circle Dot and L4A Dot. All of these models, alongside all Hawke riflescopes, are nitrogen purged, shockproof, waterproof, fog proof, and are all caliber rated (glass etched models). A removable throw lever is included. The Predator 4 riflescope features an illuminated, second focal plane E3 reticle designed specifically for hunters! The E3 reticle is in second (rear) focal plane which allows your crosshairs to remain fully visible, regardless of magnification setting. The E3 reticle also offers 5 MPH and 10 MPH crosswind reference marks for every 100 yard increment; and provides BDC (bullet drop compensation) holdover marks for each 100 yard increment along the lower vertical cross hair. The illumination has 11 total brightness levels (5 day/6 night), and can easily be fine-tuned with a dial on the side of the scope.
