Digital camera, monitor and eyepiece all in one – affordable digiscoping for everyone!
With the MINOX Digital Eyepiece Camera
(DEC 5.0) connected to a quality spotting scope a
fast and easy-fitting solution has been provided
for taking digital pictures through a spotting
scope. Simply attached to the eyepiece bayonet
of a ‘scope this highly innovative product is an
exciting combination of digital camera with
normal camera functions, 2.5“ TFT monitor and
eyepiece all in one. What is even more exciting is
that nature lovers need no additional equipment
to get into practical digiscoping.
The very compact size of around 68 x 71 x 56 mm
and weighing only 220 grams the Digital Eyepiece
Camera is convenient to carry and travel with. The
screen allows more than one person to not only
view the subject at the same time but also see
the pictures or video-clips taken or being taken.
Its just like using a powerful telephoto lens with
a 40 x magnification. Due to its compact size
and lightweight the DEC 5.0 megapixel camera
is very nice to hold while at the same time being
multi compatible. Initially it will be made with
four different bayonet fittings for high quality
‘scopes like the MINOX MD 62 range, or Zeiss,
Leica, Swarovski and Kowa. Being watertight
and shock-proof the Digital Eyepiece Camera
can comfortably be used in adverse weather
conditions.
A convenient folding ‘flip-up’ shield not only protects
the TFT monitor and the operating controls
during transportation and storage and acts as
an antidazzle shield when the Digital Eyepiece
Camera is in operation.
To do this, a powerful lens – replacing the eyepiece
– transfers the image to the sensor of the digital
camera integrated in the MINOX DEC 5.0. To
store the image data this exceptional ‘camera’
has an internal memory of 128 MB as well as a
port for SD memory cards with a capacity of up
to 4 Gigabyte. Power is provided by a replaceable
high-capacity lithium-ion battery.
The DEC 5.0 comes complete with battery, soft
pouch, remote control, USB cable, antidazzle
shield and manual.

This week is a recap of all postings of the Weekly Sales Blowout. I am going away Tuesday morning and will not be back in the store until January 7th. Leica Warranty Changes Are Coming, Never a better time to buy a Leica Ultravid Binocular or Leica Televid Spotting Scope:
Many of you know that Leica is bringing a new Ultravid HD Binocular to the market and has also announced new Televid Spotting Scopes at some future date -- of course at higher prices. This has created a great opportunity to buy from the remaining stocks of the current binocular and spotting scopes.
I just found out that Leica's warranty is going to change on all new release items & on Certified Pre-Owned Sports Optics. Passport Warranty will still be available on current Ultravids and Televids, however, the new HD series Ultravids and, when they arrive, the new Televids will carry a 10 year parts and labor warranty. There will no longer be a Passport Warranty (except on existing product, current Ultravids and Televids and anything that you already own that has Passport coverage).
The Certified Pre-Owned warranty is also changing. The change is from the current 10 years to a 5 year warranty. Again, if you have a Certified Pre-Owned with a 10 year warranty, it will remain a 10 year warranty. The Certified Pre-Owned Binoculars that we have in stock right now have the 10 year warranty on them and that will remain a 10 year warranty. Any new Certified Pre-Owned that we bring in from Leica will be covered by the 5 year warranty.
This change is seemingly due to a need to offer a uniform Worldwide Warranty consistent with German and EU law and regulation. Expect similar changes here from the other Euro companies as they have already made warranty changes in Europe and the rest of the world.
For those that are on the fence of buying, now's a great time. Before we run out of the 10 year warranty Certified Pre-Owned and the Passport covered Ultravids and Televids.

Amanda I believe they come with a fully transferable warranty......good as the brand new ones.Certified Pre-Owned CRF's from an authorized dealer have a 90-day warranty. Used Leica's sold by an individual have no warranty as their warranty is non-transferable.
That is correct. It is 90 days on the Cert Pre-Owned vs 2 years on a new one

Leica CRF Price Increase
Due to the US dollar value slipping against the Euro Leica will be having a January 1st price increase. One of the items being affected is the CRF series of rangefinder. Both the 900 and the 1200 are going up $50.00.
That will bring the CRF 900 to $549.00 and the CRF 1200 to $649.00. In anticipation of this we have gotten our hands on multiple units of both products in both new and Certified Pre-Owned.....

As has been made abundantly clear in previous posts... Spotters are great, but only if you carry them. A 50-65mm tube is what is suggested for packing. If long days hiking are on the plans than you really should take a look at the Nikon Fieldscope 50 ED.
