Do you still have the leveling kit and bumper available? -
Congrats! Glad to see conditions turned around up there! It was hot and rainy and very quiet a month ago.

I am selling my Smith & Wesson 28-2 Highway Patrolman with a 3.5" barrel from a model 27 installed on it. Finish was bead blasted and blued to match the original matte finish. Timing and cylinder endshake were also worked on. All work was done by master gunsmith Frank Glenn, who is one of the best S&W Smith's around. Has original grips on it with a Tyler T grip as well as a Don Hume Bill Jordan holster. Asking $750 and I'm in Mesa. No trades. Thanks. James

Selling my 2013 Prime Impact with Ripcord SOS rest. Stabilizer and sight aren't on bow any more. Now is in great shape, very minor scratch on limb pocket. Cables are in great shape, string has minor wear. Asking $550 in Mesa. James

Congrats on the nice bull! I should be in 27 right now but had to take the wifey to get an emergency root canal! Here! How are the cows lookin in 27?
-
Tell them you are retrieving game, you just have to find it and shoot it first!

Have an archery 27 cow tag. Was pretty quiet there this past weekend. Just a few short bugles every now and then. Was at Ross Outdoors today and they said unit 1 was the same. Hope they start becoming less shy in the next week! Good luck everyone!

I know this topic has been beaten to death on archerytalk, but I wanted your guys' opinions on this, as I think people here would be more honest than some of the fanboys on AT. I have been shooting/hunting with a Whisker Bisquit forever and am wondering if I should switch when my Prime Impact gets here. I was thinking about a Trophy Taker Smackdown pro or QAD Hdx. Is a limb driven rest better than attaching to the down cable? Have you guys had any issues stalking with a drop away (noise, containment etc)? Should I just stick with the old bisquit? What about the Axiom Pulse or Limbdriver pro v? I'm not dead set on any of these, just wondering if I'm missing out and need to take advantage of new, better technology. Thanks!

I shot just alot of bows (Elite, PSE, Matthews, Hoyt, Bowtech)before settling on a Prime Impact. VERY nice and smooth draw. Ross outdoors carries them as well as the others listed above, except Hoyt). Primes are bit pricey, but worth every penny. If you go down there, Nathan or Josiah will take care of you. Great guys to deal with. Hoyt Faktors are nice too but expensive. I had a PSE Omen. Nice and very fast, but no valley and it hurt my shoulder to shoot for long periods of time. I shot the DNA, decent draw, still fast. Prophecy is the top of the line "standard" series-single cam, very fast, seemed harsher to me than the DNA. The BowMadness 3G was pretty smooth and decently fast (330 I believe). I almost bought one before I shot the Primes. I like the longer axle to axle bows.

What kind of bow are you shooting? My Prime had a big rubber grip that I took off to shoot it straight off the riser. It added about 1/4" of perceived draw length.
-
Just an FYI, I dont think the Bowmaster will work on PSE's.

Should I switch to a drop away?
jaymzth007 replied to jaymzth007's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Well I figured I'd give a report on what I ended up with. I got a killer deal on a brand new 2013 Prime Impact for $600 off Archerytalk and basically traded straight across a Tru Ball finger release for a Ripcord SOS. I am liking the rest so far (I have it tied to the bottom limb) except for one thing. When I push the button to pop the prongs up, it makes a clicking sound when I draw the bow. Does anyone else have that problem? -
I'm cool with G&F earning a few months interest on my $135 for the chance that I might get to go elk hunting. Plus they can use the money accrued on getting a better vendor for the online draw system. Win win if you ask me!
-
You got a good family there DCM! And thats a pretty neat looking set of antlers on that bull!
-
I wish the automated G&F recording would just tell you after pushing 1 for "draw results" that they aren't available yet, instead of making you put your sportsman ID and birthday in.
-
Congrats to your Dad! But shouldn't G&F have caught that when they charged him the $13 app fee?

Hey guys. Selling my PSE Omen 29" draw, 60-70# ready to hunt with a Whisker Biscuit, 2 piece Eclipse quiver with 6 Gold tip Hunters, and a Sword Maximus Pro sight. Also has a red/black paracord braided sling as well as a red Meta Peep sight and a s-coil damper and Alphashox limb dampers. Bow is super fast and very smooth to shoot. Almost new condition, no scratches or dings. Asking $500. Want to get a new Hoyt Faktor Turbo. Thanks for looking! James

I might have some bigger older stuff that might fit as well. I know I have a duffel bag around here with a bunch of old camo in it. Might just be old army type camo though. I will keep you posted.

Ok I found my sons Mossy Oak camo jacket. It is a Youth Medium( he wore this jacket when he was 12)If it doesnt fit, maybe you can pass it on so another young hunter. Now I just have to find the pants. It is a somewhat light jacket, but I figure he can wear it over warm layers. Thats what my son did. PM me your address and I will send you at least the jacket, unless you are planning to come the the Valley anytime soon!
-
I will check also, but I'm pretty sure I have some youth sized camo here somewhere. My 16 year old is now wearing my old camp! They grow to fast! If I can dig any up I'll be happy to donate to a future hunter.

Should I switch to a drop away?
jaymzth007 replied to jaymzth007's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
There are a lot of valid points here. I think I am leaning towards some sort of drop away, at least for the summer. I will try it out for a few months and maybe through the first deer season. If it is still working good for me I'll stick with it for my elk hunt this fall. Now I just have to decide which one! I appreciate everyone's advice on here! -
Should I switch to a drop away?

This is what made the whisker bisquit so appealing to me when I first saw them years ago. When I was in my teens, I botched a shot on a real nice 7x7 while using an old plunger type rest. Arrow fell off and hit the riser. Not sure if the sound of the arrow hitting the riser was louder or the bull running away was! Anyways, I'm wondering if the transition from a WB to a drop away is going to be an awkward one in a hunting environment, being that I have used one for so long.
