Those are totally those return labels that outdoor foundations send out when they are trying to get you to join! 😂 That's right up the road from where I work, I can go check the place out...

Cabelas Dry Plus jacket, adult size large in great condition. I bought it out of the bargain cave and has been a great jacket, but it's time for me to upgrade. $40.00 obo.

How do you lock up your Ice chest/coolers???
JohnnyDesert replied to PelaPapas's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I use a master lock Python... It's great cause it can also lock other items at the same time... When I am fishing, I also lock my spare for my boat trailer on the same cable, and can be cinched tightly together. -
It's been about 6 years for me, but I sent in a pair of binos with broken eye cups and a camera with a broken lens, both took about two months. Sounds like they have stepped up their game since then.

How does the fit of pants in Sitka/kuiu, as well as firstlite while we are on the subject compare to cheaper pants? I can't stand how baggy and saggy my cheap camo pants are. I would like something that fits more like jeans, and less like parachute pants.

I just found out that I too have had a camera stolen, and while I thought it was plenty secure, I guess I should never underestimate a thief. I had mine on a water hole in 6a, in a custom lock box, with a kryptonite cable through the box and around a tree, with my name and phone number engraved on the bottom of my wildgame innovations camera. If anyone happens to see a steel lock box, made out of 1" angle iron, with perf. steel on the back, and top access with a slide bar, or a wildgame innovations camera with a name on the bottom ground off, Let me know. I'd sure appreciate it. Thank you.

On my archery antelope hunt, I used my scent spray and just sprayed it up in the air in the blind, it worked pretty good to cool the air for a minute or two. I also was guilty of sticking my head out of the roof vent a time or two for some fresh air. Also, an under armour heat gear shirt is worth it's weight in gold.

No, but I am going to when I am back up there.

This is what I was afraid of, I just wanted to make aware to keep an eye out. I never wanted to get into a heated debate about whether I was breaking any laws or not...

http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/coconino/home/?cid=stelprdb5408525 According to this, no one is breaking "the law" by leaving a camera out, although they do not advise it.

I don't consider it abandoned if I am checking it periodically.... Bottom line, it was mine, not the forrest service, or anyone else. If the forrest service had a problem, they could have called me from the phone number printed on the camera

North part. I should have known better, since it's so heavily traveled, but I figured it was plenty secure locked in a heavy box with a heavy cable. The biggest thing, is my camera box is pretty distinct, so if it turns up... I'll know it's mine. I am trying to dig up a picture of the box from when I built it.

Thanks for the tips, never thought about that... You would think they would have written me a ticket or something, since my name was on it.

Yeti, Grizzly, and Canyon Coolers What is the Difference???
JohnnyDesert replied to rossislider's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I own one of each, and honestly, Grizzly gets my vote. They are the only one of the three manufactured in the USA, and they have a lifetime warranty. Canyon cooler is also a lifetime warranty, and Yeti is 5 years. If I were to rate them 1-3 based on fit and finish, Grizzly would be #1, followed by Yeti, and then Canyon. As far as price goes, my rating is Canyon, then Grizzly, and last is Yeti. -
How many animals have you harvested in Arizona
JohnnyDesert replied to Seldom Drawn's topic in The Campfire
1 mule deer 1 cow elk 1 bull elk 1 rifle antelope 1 archery antelope 2 archery javelina Lots of coyotes -
Mule deer never cease to surprise me. There have been occasions where I have seen bucks and never seen them again. Like it has been said before, it all depends on the conditions. If there is good food and water near by, they can hold pretty tight depending on pressure. During the rut is a completely different story. On one occasion, I saw a buck in the same exact draw, three times in three weekends holding with does. On another occasion, I saw the same buck twice within a couple weekends in a one mile radius.

Carson 3D ED vs Bushnell Legend Ultra HD
JohnnyDesert replied to Blue1111's topic in Optics and tripods
I've never used the Carson's, but I do have a friend with Zen-ray 10x42 that I used one day when helping him hunt. Reading reviews, it seems that the Carson's rate higher than the Zen-ray. So based on that, I would say that the Carson's would be great. -
Good to know. For me, I have to have the binoculars in almost the narrowest setting. Do you think it would still work?
-
do you think universal adaptor would keep it from bulging? johny Not sure? I know for my eyes, there wasn't much of a gap.. I guess it depends on the person.
-
I checked them out at cabelas and was pretty impressed overall. The only problem I saw, is that with my eyes being closer together than most, a tripod mount might not fit because the body of the objective bulges out quite a bit.

I am selling my Vortex Talon HD 10x42 binoculars. They have been great for me, but it's time to upgrade. They are in like new condition and have been well taken care of. Pm for more details. Updated price to $380, since that would be what I would get for them on ebay with fees.

I am curious if anyone has any experience with these in the field? I checked these out in 10x42 at cabelas and really like the feel of them. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on these, but a couple things have me weary. Number one, I have never owned anything Zeiss and was reading some stories about repairs taking a long time in some cases. Number two, I don't like the fact that there is no threaded insert for a tripod mount. Other than that, they seem to be a solid product, although it's hard to tell without having them in the field. I also have the opportunity to buy a pair of used Sworo slc that are a few years old, but I like the idea of buying new. Thanks in advance.
