  1. I am changing the vanes on my carbon express arrows from the blazers and was considering the Max Hunter vanes. Has anybody tried these with fixed broadheads? Do they stabilize the arrow faster? I'm going to put them on using the Arizona e-z fletch mini with the maximum helical. David

I use the Max Hunter vanes with wac'em fixed broadheads, although a smaller profile fixed head that combination sure shoots bullets for me. A lot better than blazers IMO, groups are tighter, even at longer distances. I fletch them the same way as you are planning

to do and this is the only set up I will use now, nothing but great performance for me.

  2. Hey guys. Had to pick up a leftover tag after being skunked. Ended up with a 36a tag but have not hunted there in 15 years or so. Used to have access to areas but mostly closed now. Places I used to go are now homes or closed on the east side of the unit. Hunted 36c for 25 years right across the street. I have the early November hunt with my uncle and a friend. Can anyone pm me with a bit of the lay of the land? Seems like lots of low desert with barren mountains in the center. Flats to the west. Houses north and east. South looks more muley-like. Not looking for honey holes just areas to expect to see some bucks. This will be a meat hunt but do not want to hunt with 497 people on the same hill. Thanks for the input!!! Sorry to have to ask for information this way to start the hunt but times sure have changed since I was down there last!
