    Drew The Wrong Tag?

Awesome thread! Great to see G&F involved! Since we have opened the online application can of worms....i had a negative experience! Not to get into specifics as it would be counterproductive, it raises an interesting question in terms of managing our expectations. As consumers of products and services, some will expect perfection and when mistakes are made they will seek products and services somewhere else. Most, like myself, expect excellence but will be satisfied with excellent customer service when mistakes are made. Side note: G&F corrected their mistake with the online issue quickly and it appeared to me that they cared about costumer service! We don’t have another entity to go for the same services so when mistake are made, regardless of the process, not everyone will be happy! My suggestions are to continually make improvements in whatever process G&F chooses, utilize transparence in the process, and continue to emphasize costumer service. Thanks, Eddie

My 2010 desert muley made EBJ!

Great buck and congrat on the article! One of these days, it will be my turn!
  4. Do you have the first hunt or the second? It is a fairly hot hunt so meat care is critical! My brother lives within one hour so we take it there to freeze the same day. I have the first hunt and for me it has been feast or famine trying to find bucks! I know it sounds like weak advice but look at the G&F webpage, it is on point. Scouting was critical for me because there is a lot of private property. Key that worked for me was water.....year round....mostly springs and well maintained cattle tanks. The first time I was drawn, I scouted four weekends prior to the hunt......it was HOT! Last bit of info that will help in your scouting and hunting is that most if not all the bucks I have seen are bedded by 8:00 am and depending on how hot it is, they will start feeding 1 to 2 hours before sunset. Good luck!

    22 north tag

My dad and little brother have the 2nd rifle hunt. We were out of Sunday glassing off the roads in areas we had seen bulls and apparently others had seen the same thing we had. I spoke to two hunters and they were working on getting a bull each out of the areas we scouted. Congrats to them but this sure makes a hard hunt harder. Based on the areas that I was glassing from and the amount of traffic I saw, it appears that the subsection of this unit may be too small for the number of tags. Either way, will be giving it heck. Congrats to all that got one....We hope to join the group on Friday.

    24B dec Whitetail

Pops, older bother, younger brother (14) and I have 24B dec Whitetail . I read the G&F webpage and was thinking of scouting the area north of the Pinto Mine in the wilderness area. We have spent all of our time scouting for elk. I have nov 7 archery tag and Pops and younger brother have 4a rifle elk tag in two weeks. This is my little borther's first elk and deer hunt with a tag. I posted a story with a pic of a buck I shot in 22. Hopefully we can all improve on that buck. Where ever we hunt or if we harvest...I'm sure it will be a good time. Eddie
