Great buck. Love those 3's. I'd say he's in the teens. Hope he's even bigger this year!

Haha, sounds like 6 one way, half a dozen the other to me No, I think we've officially beat this one to death. -

Nope - not kidding at all. Sunscreen sweating into your eyes SUX! It's not fun, I'll give you that. But as a reason to stay out of the woods??? Come on. You must go nuts when you get your skirt caught in sticker bushes, or forget your princess themed band-aids for your boo boos. -

Alot of your more serious guys prefer the early hunts. I think the above posts reflect that. IF you have the time to put in scouting - it is much easier to pattern/find/kill the buck you've scouted for. Rut hunts are more of a roll of the dice. More than once I've been frustrated and not able to find the buck I've patterned that would show up like clockwork during the early months. Flipside is sometimes a buck you never knew existed will show up chasing does. However, all that movement can be a problem too. I was with my cousin one year and we found a gorgeous 115ish buck chasing a doe HARD. Problem was, the buck was moving so much, the cousin never could keep up during his stalk and the buck ended up 2 canyons over and never being seen again. The 3 biggest bucks I've killed were all pre-rut. Sunscreen in your eyes. Have to be kidding me. -

Thanks Bugler. Yeah, I could see how that would get a few people fired up. The dollar amount on 350 tags would be ernormous. -
I would say much higher than that.

I couldn't pass that bull. But, I'm guessing your hunter has killed some nice bulls and was holding out for a giant? Am I close? Or just didn't like the look of that bull? Although it's hard to see anything not to like about that him. Hard to see his fronts well, what did you guys have him at? One thing I have learned is you have to shoot what you like and forget about score. I've passed a few animals that people gave me a hard time about too. -
Mid 80's is my guess.

Yeah, because THAT'S what we need. You started this trashtalking nonsense, and now you're crying foul because a guy didn't go to the other shcool? Are you freaking serious? Should I not like an NFL team then because I wasn't on the team? Get a life Devil and move on.

Tippy the Ram-Desert Bighorn Sheep AZ
Coues Sniper replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
Good looking sheep! Curious about the nickname? Big congrats to the hunter on a great ram! -
Heck of a shed. No way to tell if it's for sure a Coues, but I see no reason to say it isn't. Just a monster Coues deer. If he matched he could be a high 20's type deer for sure. Sweet find.

Welcome to public land hunting sir. All you can do is pick up cans when you find them, and try to get up earlier and go in farther than the knuckleheads. And I am completely against shooting at unsuspecting game also. A quick "look out!!!" before I shoot is the norm for me, and I find it really levels the playing field. Good on you for being against the whole "being sneaky" thing also. That's for rookies.
