That's one of the coolest things I've seen. A one of a kind trophy for sure. Thanks for sharing that

Awesome as always Doug

Ernesto - so I'm taking that as 6 roasted green peppers, 6 roasted tomatos, 8 roasted green onions, and some chiltipins for ingredients but what about the rest of the method? And I'd like to hear the birria recipe also
-
Casey - you're probably right, but it's going to be fun trying By the way, I HIGHLY reccomend trying that recipe Borderboy posted. I made some last night and it was awesome. 2 Habaneros was about perfect for my taste but the wife couldn't touch it. (But she thinks Cilantro is hot ) Thanks again Borderboy!

Great cat. That last picture is awesome.

Borderboy - Looking forward to trying them with your salsa Gino - I thank you sir! And Colita Blanca sent me his recipe and asked that I put it on this thread for everyone. Thanks again Colita! Colita Blanca's recipe: Roast 6 green chile's, 4 jalepenos, 6 tomatoes. peel each of them. place in bowl and smash with potato masher. add salt and garlic salt to taste. after roasting green chile's, place in plastic bag and let sweat. This makes it easier to peel. Also take the seeds out of the green chile's. Do not blend. This is a chunky salsa. Sorry, no measurements, it's something my abuelita taught me.

I must have missed this story the first time. Sorry to hear about your girlfriend's son. A sad a serious reminder of how quick things can change. Continued prayers to you and the family. And that is an extremely generous offer for you to offer rides home.

jmp - thanks, I'll hit him up borderboy - that sounds awesome. I'll definitely give that a try. I'm a big habanero fan also. I'll whip up a batch and get some ice cream and let you know how it goes. Gracias. And if you're in the sharing mood - what's your method for the homemade tortillas? I'm of the opinion that there really isn't anything better on this planet than a couple runny eggs inside a warm homemade tortilla with some fresh salsa... thanks again

And here I thought you were going to have a good recipe for me Doug Something like that. Store bought just won't cut it anymore - I got spoiled on my last hunt in Mexico . I've been wanting to make my own for a while now, so I'm looking for a good recipe to start with.

Great buck - Especially for last day

The Hard Way, Lion Buck
Coues Sniper replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Congrats Savannah! Way to tough it out and kill a great buck. Love the way his 2's seem to come out from right behind his browes. Sweet buck. -
Right back at ya J . Hope everyone has a safe 2010, and good luck/safe travels to all those heading to Ol' Mexico in January.
-
You can't make a statement like that and not offer up some tips man!!! Give us some pointers or mistakes you have made - something. I'm planning on trying some ratlling/grunting in Sonora in Jan and I'd appreciate a head start p.s. PM's are fine
-
I've had better luck with no moon so I typically try to hunt then, but I have ZERO scientific evidence to go along with this
-
In my experience it starts around the 10th in Sonora, but the later in January the better.
-
Potential for sure. Good luck keeping tabs on him. He could be your next monster...
-
Sweet buck! I'd guess him a touch over 105 from those pictures, but who cares what he scores- that buck is awesome. Congrats
-
You could try looking on Ebay and see what they're going for.
-
Usually happens around the 10th of Jan in northern Sonora in my experience. Add about a week to that if you're down by Hermosillo. Good luck on your hunt!
