Wow, GREAT ram! Judging from those scars he was a warrior. Congrats ehunt. -
That's a gigantic tom. Especially for AZ.

Nice work! Hey, think of it this way... the smaller ones are harder to hit, and taste a sight better as well Congrats to you and your son.
-
That, sir, is awesome. Congrats on the jaguar, not many people have seen one of those! I'm Jealous!
-
Agreed, that's insane. I got 2 words... "Controlled burns" Congrats Jim, sounds like you guys earned that one. Nice buck. Oh and by the way, you said you guys saw some big bucks... how big?

HMR. I wouldn't think twice if it was a 17 Rem.

Well, i did it. I broke down and ordered a Foxpro today, should be in my hands on Monday. I've been working a crapload of hours lately (probably 80 this week) and figured "why not? I deserve it right?" I'm still having it delivered to the office so the fiance doesn't find out - just to be safe . Thanks to all you guys for the great information. And hope this is OK, but i really want to give the guys at allpredatorcalls.com a plug. Those guys are awesome. I wanted to call them to go over what sounds to put on there (they preload it with whatever you want), and the guy ended up spending over 36 minutes on the phone with me explaining which sounds he recommended for the animals i wanted to call, and how to use them, etc. He even added a few extra for no charge. Just awesome service, and very knowledgeable. They will get all my calling business from now on, that's for dang sure.

Sweet! -
I agree. I have a new .17 that i haven't drawn blood with yet (well except a pigeon, but that doesn't count ) So i'm excited to take it out. The plan is, since I'll usually have someone with me, to have one guy with the .17 for close up 'yotes and the occasional cat, and the other with my 22-250 for back-up and any dogs that hold up. Can't wait.

I have to agree with you about the folks on MM, I can't figure out what their deal is - I love the folks on this website - wouldn't have it any other way. +1

Checking velocities right now and it looks like with those 180 grain round noses you'll get about... 48 fps.
-
Looks like a heck of a Sitka to me Congrats.
-
I'm hoping so... I'll keep everyone posted. Longshooter, your memory is terrible. You shot cats, I shot rabbits... and we used .22's . Although i do hope this caller and my .17 make a good cat set-up...just ones with spots
-
Definitely. Next time you come up, we'll take it and the .17 out bro. I might even let you shoot her Clint, I'll never remember them all; he gave me 55 of them. Some of the ones that he said were typically overlooked or surprised me was fox distress (very overlooked for 'yotes), several kinds of bird distress (for everything, but especially for lions of all things), dog howl (domestic dog), siren (like a fire truck - as a locater, never heard of using that) and a few others i don't remember. Plus all the regulars - rabbit distress, fawn distress, etc. If you'd like i can write 'em all down when i get the unit. I told him i wanted to call coyotes, bobcats, lions, crows, and also have a couple deer calls (grunt, bleat, rattle). He said he was pretty proud of what we came up with. That guy helped a ton.

Going downhill or not, that is a great buck. Sorry you didn't get to stick an arrow in him Tyson, but i hope he's still around for you next year. And that tumor on his face is crazy - that thing's huge! Anyone have a good idea what it could be? How long has he had that Tyson? Alot of character on that deer. Good luck to you next year man, I hope he makes it. Kevin

send me your personal email I'll gladly send you a pic but I would rather not post it because it is not my buck No problem. PM sent!

By the way... Got any pics of that 130" buck???

No writer my a$$, great story man! The time you put into that deer and the cam pics you have 2 minutes before the shot and immediately after, man that's something special. That buck is a brute. Congrats on a truly well earned trophy. Just awesome man. Huge congrats to you
