You should be able to shoot them from camp with that rig, Congrats! I have a few friends who have one of those and they have had great groups out to 1000 yards with them. One is an elk guide here in Nevada and he had two clients kill elk at over 800 yards with it .

Unhappy with my new coues mount

Bowsniper, I have to agree with you on this one. It looks weird to me as well. The bottom line is if YOU aren't happy with it, tell your taxidermist and have him fix it. He should be able to if he's as respected as you say. But NICE buck by the way. -

Gorgeous buck man, congrats. I love character like that. Thanks for the story too! -
I agree, that bear is a P-I-G, PIG! Where did you get that sucker Keven? And was it archery?

Wish i had known about this sooner, seems like it would be an awesome event.

You're absolutely correct because it's patented. As is the Martin Shoot thru. The Limb Pivot idea was actually on an earlier bow, but the technology wasn't there to make it work (1987). After that patent expired (20 years), Bowtech picked up the design and ran with it. The Martin Shoot thru is nice because it eliminates cam lean since there is no cable guard. This improves nock travel and the overall accuracy of the bow. Which is why you find it mostly on target models. But no other bow maker can touch it. People poo poo'd the binary cam design for a while too (darton patent i think) but it's becoming increasingly popular with other manufacturer's. With the attention the Guardian/Commander are getting this year, I'm betting they will be around for a long while. Shoot one Matty, they really are good bows.
-
Pretty obvious that you haven't shot one then. That center pivot design will be around for some time.

That's a donkey for sure

Great buck, and finds! Those 2nd's are insane. Good luck on finding this year's drops!

Nice work Troy!!! Congrats on a great hunt! And you have it on video for forever, very cool. Good luck on your turkey hunt! -
You know, i shot one and i wasn't all that impressed. I don't know, it just seemed average to me. The noise and vibration were ok, but it was definitely there. Pretty smooth draw. I shot it right after a Switchback, Drenaline, and a Guardian so maybe they spoiled me. Hoyt makes a great product so I'm sure it's a good bow, it just didn't flip my switch i guess. my 2 cents anyways.
-
Drenaline is a very nice bow. After shooting that and the XT back to back, i liked the XT better. But that's just me. Better hold and shot a little smoother. The only negative i have heard about the Drenaline is that the limbs can crack IF the bow is not pressed properly. But that's true with most of the newer bows anyways. Alot of people really like that bow.

Hunterdude, don't worry fanboy up there Still waiting on that video by the way CnS... I just bought a Bowtech Guardian and it's the best bow I've ever owned. Once i get all the bling on it, I'll post some pics. I don't know anything about Parker however.

Yeah, i saw that video on archerytalk.com. Very interesting to say the least. However, wish they would have compared it to other "speed" bows, instead of the "popular" bows they chose. I could have told you what was going to happen with the ballistic gelatin test before it even happened. The sound test I found very interesting, although they took the stock sting silencers off of the guardian. The Drenaline has silencers built in, but they left them on since they weren't on the string . And it really didn't shock me that Nathan was able to shoot the bow well. He should be able to shoot anything well. Instead of putting the president behind the string, i would have like to seen Nathan shoot the other bows at those same distances to see what differences there were (if any). But all in all, PSE may have a winner here. That kind of speed hasn't ever been produced before without some sort of trade-off. I just wish there was a place in Vegas to shoot one.
-
Another vote for two-blades. And the draw length question is a good one. Seems as though you should be getting a little more speed than you are.

Amanda, Great bucks and awesome story. Thanks for sharing!

Get the 15's. Much more vital in my opinion as you're going to spend the majority of your time sitting on your butt behind a tripod anyways. I won't go anywhere without my Swaro 15's. They are AWESOME. I call them my crutch . I'd upgrade the 10's as well, but you can save and do that later.

I'd love to see them!!!

CnS, The dealer/shop situation isn't the only reason, but i admit is is a reason. I've been out of archery for quite some time so don't know enough about this stuff to even tune my own bow, so i plan on relying heavily on a shop for work and advice, etc. But the Bowtech guy said he'd help me no matter what i bought, and he's like 10 minutes form my house so i'll go to him no matter what, but he does obviously know Bowtech better. The SB XT and the Guardian are both really great bows, and i don't know if you could go wrong with either one. I'm actually going down to shoot the Guardian again tomorrow (3rd time ) and am going to shoot some groups. I'll let you know. Long shots are definitely a concern as I'll be hunting Nevada and AZ. Thanks for the advice. Kevin
