  1. Haha here we go. . everybody gonna get their panties in a wad about a couple people questioning something that sounds fishy. Cry about if you like. Write in BIG LETTERS and make it seem like you're SO angry. But if something sounds fishy then I am going to post what I think about it. If I killed a buck like that and people started saying it was poached or whatever and didn't know the story I really wouldn't care because I would know it was legal. And that's all that matters. If people don't wanna post their pictures on here that's their choice. If they have a legitimate story with it no one questions it. But when something like this comes up people will question it. Kinda like the big deer killed a couple weeks ago out of the Grand Canyon National park. If someone hadn't of posted a picture of that buck eating off the side of the highway in the park no one would have ever questioned the story. So as long as fishy stories pop up I'll keep questioning them and if you guys don't like it it's your choice to get offended or not.

Dam you're cool. Way to keep it real.

  2. Happened to me once as well. Had the bull at 20 yards, could only see the top of one side, buddy said "oh my God, shoot that bull, and there was a SLOB we had cam pics of in the area, so I shot through a hole in the brush. Bull was a sweet palmated 7 point on one side, rag horn 5 on the other. Doubled he would have gone almost 380, as he was he went 317. That's how it goes man.

Video was great as usual, but too short. So nice to see all that green.

  3. If you're planning on buying a lion tag, and goin out spcifically to kill one without dogs - you are going to have a very hard time doing so. These guys have killed lions while hunting for other species; they got lucky. TJ, you've killed 3 which is awesome, but how many years and trips did it take to accomplish that? I killed one sitting water, but that's the only lion I've ever seen doing that. I've heard lions courting a few times and found them that way, but again that's such a rare instance. Not saying it can't be done, but your chances are very very slim. Heck, guys go out with dogs all the time and don't kill.

  4. You absolutely nailed it. One of my favorites too. I say "periwinkle blue" all the time for no reason. That and "no thanks, I'm sweet enough" or "If I throw a dog a bone, I don't want to know how it tastes". Such a great movie. Bricktop is a badass.

Wish you would have killed that buck, looks like he had a whole pile of does. Trying to kill him spot and stalk is just short of impossible with that many ladies. You never found his water?

  5. The biggest mistake this kid made was letting a picture get out. All those park deer are so well known, anyone of them is instantly recognized. The hunting world is simply a giant sewing circle full of jealous people who want to act like they know everything. So, as soon as any big deer is killed, the poaching accusations and "I hear that he said that she said" nonsense will fly. Add in pictures of the deer standing on a paved road taken right out the window, and you better get your flame suit on. I know plenty of hunters who have chased those park deer and not killed them. If this kid did it fair, good for him. If he didn't, I hope he gets the book thrown at him. We likely will never know.

And lastly, just because he just started his business means nothing to me about "not wanting to risk losing it". Way I see it, there are tons of people out there who want to make a living guiding. What better way for a guy desperate to get some street cred and seperate himself than by putting a 220" velvet feather in his cap. Not saying, jut saying.

  6. I lived in Austin for 9 months last year. Not a bad town. Very cool downtown area, nice small town feel, great Mexican food. Hunting is good, but most land is private - and high fenced. Not sure about fishing, but ocean is only a couple hours away. Has to be some good bass lakes nearby. And it never gets cold there. Ever. Talking high 80's in February. Most important thing is does it make sense for your family. I know a guy who has 5 kids who recently moved there and loves it.
