D@mn that is an awesome bear! Nice job
-
Well he didn't mention where he was. Maybe he wasn't in AZ and could kill 2 birds
-
Great job! Congrats to you and your son

Most taxidermists will charge by the square ft for anything bigger than a deer. I tried to tan part of my elk hide with the hair on but it didn't turn out very good.

How big is the his bear?

I probably wouldn't think you're crazy. I'm starting to have my own ideas as well -

-

-

Last season was my first season bowhunting and I didn't kill a buck but I actually like to hunt. If I just wanted to kill stuff I would be road hunting or sitting in blinds
-
All I'm tryin to say is I don't need to have been in a d@mn blind for countless hours to call myself a hunter as akaspecials would suggest
-
You can't call yourself a hunter if you've never spent enough time in a blind to want some headphones. Maybe if I lived out east. I actually spot and stalk hunt rather than plant my a$$ in a lawn chair and drink beer all day waiting for a deer
-
You can't call yourself a hunter if you have to listen to music while in the blind

Found a big jet black bear at 900 yds that fed down into a canyon and disappeared

Anyone from California?

He will need to get his CCW before being able to handle any form of bow or crossbow -
If you plan on taking shots on deer past 500 yds then get the hs lr. Otherwise the vortex 4-16x44 is a great scope that will suit your needs

12x50 vs 15x56-help me make my purchase
backcountry_brad replied to creed_az_88's topic in Optics and tripods
I like 12x50's since you don't need to bring 10's for a stalk or for when you are on the move -
I got an American not too long ago in .30-06 and love it so far. It's probably the best rifle you can buy for under $500
