Worth buying a pellet gun or hold out for a shotgun?
backcountry_brad replied to cwnova's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Get a shotgun and go with a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500 -
Had an awesome time archery elk hunting this week with my buddy. We had camp set up on Wednesday to spend a few days scouting. On Wednesday we found a bachelor herd of 8 bulls with the biggest being around 340" so we watched them all day but the 340 bull disappeared on Thursday so we ended up bedding a couple smaller bulls that night. My friend and I went in and stalked them at first light on Friday and got it done on our first archery bulls!

Looking to Buy Binoculars Under 500 dollars. Reccomendations
backcountry_brad replied to CouesHunterAZ's topic in The Campfire
And then wait a little longer so you can acquire the last pair you will every buy. Trust me, you will save money in the long run unless your looking way over the hill and don't have many hunts left. Even then, make the last hunts count. High quality glass is also really nice on old eyes. Your kids are just going to spend your money anyway when you're gone. Very true. Buy nice or buy twice! -
I'm pretty sure someone was just selling one on here

Grizzly bear in Alaska would be my #1 dream hunt

If you're gonna get 12's save up for vipers or razors instead of the diamondbacks -
He11 ya! Congrats man! I've always wanted to do that

Btw, for those who are wondering, we caped out our bulls to trade for euro mounts

I have an American in .30-06 and absolutely love it. It's a tack driver and is really light weight. I'd have to say it's the best bolt action under $500

Awesome! That's a successful season if I've ever seen one!

I'm posting this for a friend who had her Polaris razor stolen out of her driveway around 8 AM yesterday in Queen Creek. It's an '08 ranger razor that just had a light bar installed. Please keep an eye out and text or call (928) 242-6686 if you have any information. Thanks!

Amen!

I will probably never buy Sitka pants because one of my friends bought a pair a few months ago and already got a huge tear in em. The only time I've ever torn wranglers was bull riding...

The Polaris was found by the police tonight, totalled, on the rez :/

Her family was home. They must've pushed it out of the driveway in neutral otherwise they would've heard it

Went out today and glassed for nearly 8 hours, in high winds, before finding a herd of pigs. Once located, I hurried down the ridge I was on and smoked this boar. After years of hunting javis unsuccessfully, I finally sealed the deal and got my first pig!

Thanks everyone. I threw one of the rear quarters in the crock pot with some beans, tomatoes, and chiles for 8 hours and it turned out pretty good. Yes, bhuntin, I'm definitely hooked on hunting these little suckers now!
