  1. Thanks fellas. I agree because I immediately thought large bobcat, but all the "Karens" in the neighborhood want to start claiming its a lion and man they swear they are experts lol. I told them I would post this pic for the fellow predator hunters/trappers opinion since they see these things all the time.

My son had an archery bull tag in Unit 8 last fall, he wasn't able to arrow a bull. It was quieter than we'd have liked and certainly much quieter than most of the other rut timed hunts for elk I'd experienced previously. There was decent water levels in the tanks we checked and hunted around. What's the tank water situation in 8 this year?

Its a sit water hunt this year.

It's a great hike, highly recommend it.

The guy who hosted our trip did it right. He brought a small propane burner / stove and had frozen dinners prepared. We paid the Natives / mules to carry our duffel bags and ice chests all we carried were day packs and water. Those switch backs on the way back up to the parking lot was the only bad part of the trip.

  4. I hiked Havasupai like 7 years ago and I remember this big burly cowboy was hiking the trail in wranglers,  black tee shirt , big butt black Garth Brooks Cowboy hat and black cowboy boots he made it like 4 miles before we passed him sitting down getting help from people.  You have to come prepared. heck, the cheap wal mart water socks I bought didn't even last a day walking through the creeks. Awesome hike though and I highly recommend it. You wont ever forget the feeling of diving in that blue water after the long hike in.

  5. I dont think the Suns coach is the problem. That team is super young and soft! They need a vet in there ASAP. Someone to slap around these young Suns players for lack of effort. As for the Cardinals yeah coach Wilks sucks and needs to go ASAP. He's done nothing good this season. Bruce Arians had this same Cardinals team go 8-8 last season with no David Johnson & Blaine Gabbert as QB.

  6. I wear the Crispi Thor GTX and I freaking love them. The most comfortable boot I ever owned. If you want to try on in person go to Ross Outdoors in Phoenix. They started carrying Crispi boots. I made them even more comfy with the Lanthrop and Sons footbed.

If this is your 1st smoker I'd recommend an 18" or 22.5" Weber Smokey Mountain. I don't know if Lowe's sells the 22.5". I have had both the 18 and 22.5 and kept the 18. Portable and not hard to learn. I take mine on camping trips all the time. Tons of info out there on forums related to WSM's and techniques. Used to competition cook and a WSM was the cooker that most competitors used. That was when competitions didn't allow anything run with electricity.

As for the pellet pooper! I opted for the Camp Chef Woodwind and love it. Easy hopper drain and ash drain for simple cleaning or changing pellet flavors. Treager did not offer that on their pellet cookers. A pellet cooker puts a great flavor into the food for sure. A charcoal/wood smoker has a unique flavor that a pellet cannot do. Pellet is versatile but not as easy to "grill" as a charcoal or gas "grill".

Love my camp chef.. Much easier to clean than Trager plus the side sear box is money! Now they have side griddle ad ons and a pizza oven add on for The Camp Chefs.

  8. I bought a Camp Chef pellet grill from Cal Ranch. It was between a Trager and The New Camp Chef Whirlwind pellet smoker. The only reason I went Camp Chef is because they offer a side sear burner as an add on piece and other cooking add on pieces. I like a reverse sear steak so the side sear burner was a selling point.  400 dollars probably wont get you a decent size Trager or Camp Chef pellet grill. The bigger ones are like 700 - 1000 bucks. With that being said they are pretty awesome. I've done steaks, ribs, brisket, pork shoulder, prime rib , and other meats. You can literally " set it and forget it " just come back every few hours to check the pellet auger and thats pretty much it. My best friend has a Trager and they are solid too he uses his a few times a week.

Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. in Gilbert is whats up! Can't wait for their DT location to open.

I've had their stuff and they are definitely good, my top 3 in Arizona are:

    1) Pueblo Vida in Tucson ( hands down the best in AZ )

    2) Wren House in Phoenix

    3) AZ Wilderness in Gilbert - They have really stepped up their hazy IPA game the past couple of years.

Tucson has some good breweries and there's even a good brewery in Tombstone called Tombstone Brewery.

Some of those special brews that have 10-11% alchohol are butt kickers. I'm speaking from experience. Lol.

Yeah most IPA's are about 6% ABV Double IPA's 8 - 10% and Triple IPA's are like 13% and just a couple pints will give you a pretty good buzz... Stouts have high ABV% too.. I was a light beer drinker for years mostly bud light , coors light , miller lite .. Now I cant go back. Lots of good breweries in Arizona now too.
