They are a very stiff boot, and the soles are not very forgiving. I use the Irish Setter Elk Tracker 882. They are softer leather, but still supportive, and the sole is durable and quite. 600 gram thinsulate.

This method is optically zeroing your scope. It is used to check resolution, or compare resolution between two or more scopes. It basically centers up the erector tube to the objective to provide the clearest site picture so when you put two scopes side by side you are getting a fair comparison. The further the erector tube gets to the edge of the objective the more degraded the image will appear. As far as sighting in the rifle....it's going to shoot where it's going to shoot at this point. Bore site and shoot at 100 yards as mentioned above.

Yes, a comparator is a necessity. The Meplat is more than likely where you were getting you variation. Also, depending on how tough it is to close the bolt, the bullet may be getting stuck in the lands and pulling out of the case a bit when you eject it.

He cleanly took a mule deer at 576 yrds, and a bull at 375 yrds last year. They also carry loads with the 185 gr. classic hunter. I use the 230gr in hand loads. We have have had good luck with the Bergers.
