How I occupy my time when I am not hunting...
pahncho2121 replied to pahncho2121's topic in The Campfire
After driving it around for a bit I ended up putting a muffler on it. The turbo did an ok job at idle to quiet it down but above 3000 rpm it was hard to sit in the cab. It has a single 4" exhaust dumping out of the passenger fender and I found a boat header baffle that fit in it. View My Video -

I agree, getting started is the hard part. After a few weeks getting up early to exercise was becoming a pain, then I finally noticed how good I was feeling throughout the day and that became addicting. It made working harder everyday worth it.

Thanks! That's what started it all. Some friends and I planned a trip to hike into Fossil Creek and I didn't want to fall behind. Then hunts started coming up and I kept finding more motivation.

A little video of my family and I setting some Moultrie panoramic trail cams over water. I'll put up another one after they "marinade" for a bit. https://youtu.be/TeVs5DyHvFg -
what to use to capture quality footage out to 500 yards.

https://youtu.be/RoY1m5VmHZE I got the first shot across Munds Canyon. The rest were between 500 and 700 yards. I used my Carson Hookupz Universal and Galaxy 6 phone. -

Thank you! It was an all day event that is for sure. -
Put together this slide show on my phone real quick. I got zero video footage but did see some decent deer. This was back in July. Beautiful area! https://youtu.be/_w2fnrT6wXw

Just glassing up some elk. Optics Nerd inspired this. I was on an archery deer hunt last weekend and saw a decent amount of elk. Here is a short clip. Few small bulls https://youtu.be/RoY1m5VmHZE

I am searching for a mule deer cape for my wife's first deer. I guess there was an issue with the tanning results and long story short, I am in need of a new cape. 20" neck x 7 1/4" eye to nose

I have spent hours researching this and over the life of the messenger the delorme inreach was the better buy. They allow you to activate for just a 30 day period under their freedom contract instead of paying for the whole year. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but will soon.

6A has decent cell coverage. He could send you a picture.

Been flingin' 100 arrows min. a day for the past month, ramping up the exercise, boots on the ground last 5 of 6 weekends, I am ready. No time away from work though till 8/30 leading up to the holiday weekend so I plan on taking a week off then and going. I just have to sit patiently for the next 2 weeks.

Makes central AZ coues sound that much better...

I've always heard of turkey creek but have never been there myself. Is it really that bad? I am wondering the same thing. I have scouted five different units in the state looking for a place to early archery hunt in hopes of my first coues deer. All the info I compiled on sites like GoHunt etc. have lead me to look into 29. I am not after a toad but just an opportunity and an adventure. I've spent the last 6 weekends scouting central AZ with no luck and was hoping unit 29 might slightly increase my odds. I hunt alone and by the sounds of it, sounds like things could get a little "western." I live 17 miles from the southwestern border and am aware of proximity issues but I am still curious as to if 29 is really that dangerous?
