New from OH, soon to be AZ

hahaha holy crap I didn't see this thread all weekend, never knew there were so many easterners out there in AZ. Granted I'm an OH transplant, grew up in central PA but the spring and summers you'd find me belly crawling the farm fields with the .222 chasing the whistle pigs. Thanks again for the warm welcome guys! I'll definitely be getting in touch with you guys when we get into AZ. Everytime I read through this thread and the GF is in the room I'm like sweetie... i don't think we're ever going to be leaving AZ and she's just responds, yeah I pretty much already knew that lol ugh we're so excited to get down there and you guys are getting us even more excited. Oh and my entire family was Bethlehem steel mill workers in Johnstown but my dad and uncle transitioned to the paper mills after the service. I worked the paper mill in the summers in HS and college, shift work, 100+ degrees and full humidity in the boiler house... makes me appreciate my office job, a little, i still hate sitting at a desk lol

    Kodiak Bear charge

I've seen that video so many times and still every time I'm on edge lol
  3. wouldn't it be all over the news if the meteor was "suspected" or they saying it's probable it's a meteor not an expected meteor? In PA, we'd hear about meteor showers before they happened and everyone would go out and watch em
  4. man his apprenticeship program looks awesome... $1500 for a week, that's not terribly bad. I may look into that,, it sounds well worth the information!

    WY - Whose in?

Back to wyoming again this year, we were there for archery elk last year and both tagged out, now going back to chase some goats. Put in for area 6 with 8 as a second choice(0PP), it'll be my dad and my first time hunting antelope with a rifle (we did a guided archery hunt 10+yrs ago) and we're more than excited.

hahaha you don't say.... he's actually doing really well. We had TPLO surgery done in march and he just had his final check up last week and he's 4 weeks ahead of schedule healing wise. It was a long 8 weeks not allowing him to do anything tho... but in 4 weeks he'll be 100% normal again and we're back to the water and the fields for some training. What part of OH did you come from? I'm here in columbus, how's AZ compared to columbus? From what I hear people are saying we'll never move back lol Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys! I think my time on this site is going to be a good one. I expected just the typical welcome to the site responses, when I moved to OH and joined a forum it was depressing b/c they were essentially saying good luck finding any decent hunting b/c it's either leased, already hunted, or you're on public which sucks. Hearing what you guys have to say about AZ, now I'm even more excited!

we're all pumped, we love being outdoors and OH there just isn't big enough or nice enough public land to actually hike/camp. Obviously I'm excited for the hunting and the fishing, since I moved to OH 3.5yrs ago I haven't touched my flyrod, no trout here The only thing I'm kind of worried about is my choc lab, he's a little over a year, I train him for hunt tests (torn ACL in feb delayed his competitions) but he's not a huge fan of the heat. Also I'm hoping to run into some other retriever trainers in the phoenix area. I would love to be able to get him to be an upland dog as well and try to get after some quail.
