I think I got it figured out... It was me. Both are at 100 yards today. I got the scope dialed in too. Winchester deer XP 130g first. Hornady American whitetail 130 second. Now just need to shoot more.

Got a question, hopefully someone can help. New to shooting. So, my first shot is usually on the mark, then the rest start to drift right. I'm guessing its my form. I try to reset my self back as I was for the first shot. Winchester M70 270, ammo either Federal premium Sierra Gameking or Hornady Super performance sst. 130g for both. I know the muzzle velocity is different for both. It happens for both. I also wait between 3-5 min. between shots. I'm shooting at Ben Avery and using bags front and rear. The target picture is from today around 2:30 distance was 200yrds. Not worried about MOA grouping yet. Thanks

Update... Front action screw was not torqued to specs. Back was tight. So I loosened both up and retired both, front first. Cleaned barrel, regular solvent and copper solvent. We'll see how it shoots today. Thanks everyone

Okay thanks, I'm going with it's probably me. Shots do not always drift that much. Rifle is new, I broke it in and have cleaned it. Those shots were after around 40 rounds sense last cleaning. I am trying to stay on target after the shot, however sometimes it recoils back and to the right. Stock hand I try to keep it loose or not that much pressure. Pulling trigger with my finger tip. Cheek weld still trying to figure that out... good position.

Yep... I realized that right after I couldn't apply again. Reread the rules. Well, lesson learned. Thanks everyone

Can I hunt the same unit twice for javelina if its a different hunt number? Like the Jan. archery hunt and then the general hunt in Feb. I think its okay from reading the regulation book, I just don't want to mess up our group app. and then none of us get drawn. Thanks

Thanks everyone... Only problem I've encountered is you can't do it online.

So, I just purchased my first rifle. A model 70 .270 and now am wondering if my scope is way to big. Vortex Viper hs lr 4x16 50mm. I have the warmer medium height mounts. I don't know the mounted scope mount height. Should I have gone with a 4x12 40mm or something closer to this. I know... my preference but any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Thanks everyone, I'm not sure why I started second guessing myself. Hey Lance do you still have your jeep? I ended up selling mine around 2yrs ago after it sat in the garage for about 4yrs. Kids+4wheeling = not a so happy wife Jake
