I have the Leupold Rogue 10x25 binoculars. I don't really see how they could be mounted to a tripod but I'm willing to give anything a shot.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. Sounds like I need to glass, glass, glass. And in that case I'll need some better glassing bino's. The ones I have now are good but they don't have a tripod adapter so picking an area apart is is much harder then with my bino's on a tripod I would think. The area I was hunting had a ton of fresh scat and tracks but it was a very hilly area with a lot of ravines with brush down in the bottom. Which made getting to a high spot that could see out over a wide expanse next to impossible. I would get to a high point and you could only see maybe 5 - 6 hundred yards in a few directions and then would have to hike to the next ridge to see further. I bumped a few does while hiking but didn't a buck follow unfortunately. My search for better bino's with tripod capabilities starts now!

Thanks Zeka-BE. I've seen a ton of deer sign but only a few deer, all does. Each time I've bumped some does I waited to see if a buck followed and there hasn't been one. I've been doing more hiking then glassing so I might need to change that. I'll take your advice to heart next time I go out.

Hey all - I've never been big game hunting (went rabbit hunting a few times) and I don't know anyone who does hunt. I would really like to just get out there and experience what it's all about before I go out on my own. Would anyone be willing to take me along with them on a hunt? Turkey, deer, elk, doesn't matter to me. I promise I would be a good helper and wouldn't complain about a thing. I'd even bring whatever supplies necessary if need be. I fly fish a lot in Unts 22 and 23, so I am somewhat familiar with those areas if that helps at all. I know in the fly fishing world most people, at least in AZ like to go solo, so if that's the case for hunters, I understand. But if anyone needs a partner or just wants to show someone how it's done, shoot me a message I'd really appreciate. Or even if anyone just had some suggestions how to get started hunting, that would be really helpful as well. Thanks, WarrZone

I'm open to both. I have rifles now but I've also had experience with shooting bows when I was younger and still enjoy it. I'm more interested in a spot and stalk style of hunting. I currently live in Chandler. But I go up near Payson quite a bit. I'm actually going up there this weekend to camp and fish. I'm going to try and spot some elk if I can figure out what I'm doing. Canyon Creek area.
