    nostler partition

I will have to agree with Ernesto C and More D the partition is a great bullet but it is built for deep penetration. Another bullet you might want to try is the sierra game king, they are known for their accuracy, and they open up pretty fast.

    OT - spring bear 24A

I have never heard of bears hitting the prickly pear in the spring, only for a short period of late summer and fall.
  3. Hey Diablo thanks for the info. United States Outfitters (George Taulman) has been trying to sue the Az game and Fish for over a year now, for the 10% cap on all of our antelope, elk, and deer north of the colorado river tags. They won in state court but now it is in supreme court. They think they should have the same opportunity as residents at drawing those tags, because they want to make money in Az by guiding. That is how they won in state court is because they said it is a buisnes and they should have a right to work over here. I think we should back the Az Game and Fish as much as we can, because they have been fighting them every step of the way.
  4. Hey galiuro mountain man the polishing might help. Are you loading yourself or shooting factory? My guess is the loads might be a little bit more than your gun wants and the brass is expanding too much. It did happen to me a couple of times when I was loading 30.5 grains of h110 but now that I am at 30 gr it doesnt happen.

    Check this out

MAN that was intense. Thank you very much for sharing that with us.Now I want to go hunt lion.
  6. I agree with galiuro mountain man on his picks for calibers. I also shoot a 454 casull myself. My gun is a Taurus model 454 Raging Bull. It has great ballistics and is cappable of cleanly killing anything in Az. I load 300gr. Hornady XTP's with 30 gr. of H110. That is the most accurate load I have found yet. I have rolled a couple of coyotes with it so far.

    december hunters

Went back into 27 monday and tuesday. Still no rut. Seen lots of does, and 4 bucks including a huge coues buck that we estimated at 115-120 inches. But he was 800 yards away with a huge canyon between us. So we left him alone so we can go back with a friend that has a rifle tag.

    december hunters

Hey guys great pics. Just came back from 27 for the day and going back tommorow. I hunted down lower and seen no rut activity. messed up a stalk on a 170 inch muledeer and spotted one whitetail buck about 400 yards out, but never could get up on him. Scott to me the bull looks like he is about a 320 to 330 inch bull but then again it is hard to tell from pictures. If you dont mind me asking where did you see the bull, I seen two down in the lower country also.

Hey Scott nice pictures I am heading out to unit 27 on the 19th for archery. Did not get a rifle tag this year. I live in pinetop, it is not as close as you but still close enough to scout a lot. Those bino's look big in the bottom picture what kind are they if you dont mind me asking? According to your article I hunt not too far from you in 27, and I also have a honey hole in the blue.
  11. I know bill bishop, and yes he does know where some very nice bucks are in unit 27. I live in pinetop and 27 is where I hunt to. I am leaving on the 19th to see if I can arrow one.

    short magnums

I have owned a 300 wsm for about one year now, and I love it. I have many different rifles including a 7mm mag, and i like my 300 wsm the best.It is a very powerful round that is flat shooting, but has a very mild recoil. The 7mm mag is also a very good caliber. Their are a lot of great calibers to choose from but i would take my 300 wsm over all of them. I just witnessed my wife drop an elk with it about a week ago. If you have any questions on the short mags, and i can answer them for you i would be happy to. You can email me at muay_thai_guy76@yahoo.com or just ask them here and i will see it soon.

    22-250?

In my oppinion the 22-250 is a very good couse gun out to 350yds. Although it is more than capable past that range it just still has quite a bit of energy at that range. personaly I use a 300 wsm but I always take my 22-250 along as well. I have a couple of friends that shoot 22-250's every year and kill their deer with one shot. I have also witnessed my little brother take 2 mule deer with my 250. Both went down in their tracks. But my favorite has to be my 300 wsm which is basically the same power as the 300 win mag. I love the flat bullet flight and killing power out to those extended ranges. for the 22-250 I would recommend 55gr nosler partition and 55gr remington soft point. Those are two factory loads that i have seen drop deer, I load nosler partitions for mine.

    CouesDeer Salt Lick

bullwidgeon is exactly correct you can bait for anything you want except bears and waterfowl. but to answer your question couesfanatic I agree witj az griz I have found that most of my deer licks start getting hit after about 60 days, but I have had some get hit in just a couple weeks. Most of my elk licks get hit a lot quicker than deer.
