That old Mac gear drive is money if it runs, the Stihl is solid if it has compression! You might want to research a little first! They are both probably good to go with new fuel lines and a carb clean!

C’mon folks… you can let this thing sit for 5 years, put some fresh gas in it, and it will start in 2 pulls! Nobody needs this thing for a cabin or something? $200???

I have experienced issues where the gas takes a long time to charge the line up to the pilot light. What I have done in the past is held a flame underneath the thermocouple until the unit valve opens and fires. Those 6” grill lighters work well. there may still a pilot light that lights with the electronica spark. Then the pilot heats the thermal couple before it will allow the valve to open. This is to ensure that there is enough heat to burn the gas. Also, wasps and spiders like to clog up the works sometimes.

Guys, I spent 15 years in the small engine industry.... ethanol in the fuel is the biggest problem! The seals in the carb, fuel lines, etc were designed for gasoline and not alcohol. Use true fuel or stabil in your small engines. If you get up to areas like Sedona that have ethanol free fuel, fill up there! Otherwise, clean and rebuild carbs and fuel systems and it will take care of most problems!... run your carbs dry after use if you have a fuel shut off. Empty tanks if using pump gas. It’s not like the old days where leaving the fuel system full was a good idea! The ethanol in the fuel will actually absorb water from the air and even through plastic fuel tanks and rubber lines. Once the ethanol reaches a saturation point with the water the water will separate and severely corrode any aluminum in your fuel system. If you find an engine that is very low hours and does not run, it is most generally the carb is plugged up with corrosion and is an easy fix for somebody that has very little mechanical ability.

Thinking about selling my 2000 Honda XR650 R. As far as I know, I am the second owner... first owner was afraid of it. I’ve owned for about 13-14 years. The bike has been used but very well taken care of and has a Baja designs street legal kit installed. Also has passenger pegs. I have used it for off road mainly and occasionally commuting to work. It has a current tag. Includes a rear paddle which I have never used but got with the bike, and a desert tank with petcock and mounting hardware which was used for my longer rides with full price offer. Not looking for trades. Would rather deal with y’all than Craigslist!
