As I mentioned in my other book ad in the classifieds. I'm in the process of recovering from losing my optics bag in a home break-in. I'm replacing what was lost and the only thing I have not replaced is my compact binoculars. I would consider a trade for a good used quality pair of compacts for these books. I emphasize "good" quality.

I would be interested in a trade for a quality pair of compact binoculars. My optics bag was recently taken and I'm in the process of replacing the items in the bag. The only things I've not replaced are my compact Leicas and my spotting scope. I would be interested in discussing a trade for a quality used pair of compacts.

A copy of Jonathan Kibler and Walt Prothero's book "Lion Tales". This edition is autographed by Kibler, and is a Safari Press book. This is a first edition book in "Very Fine" condition. The dust jacket is "Fine" also. The book was published in the year 2008. A search on Abe's book resulted in five non-library books ranging in price from $900.00 to $1500.00. Also Mr. Kiblers personal business card is inserted inside the book. This is a book of great dry-ground lion hunting with hounds in the southwest from a gentleman who spent thirty years chasing his hounds. $750.00 to your door with insurance. Lower forty-eight states only.

Thanks for posting this. It speaks of a man highly when he's not afraid to post things like this, in this day in time. Thank you. -
I purchased a used Mark V in .300 WM. It came with a McMillan stock also. I'm strictly a wood stock guy. The stock is in excellent condition. Weight is 1.5#, and LOP appears to be 14". It is marked McMillan in the barrel channel, but also says Cabela's in the channel also. I talked to Justin at McMillan, he said it was probably ordered by Cabela's and was marked that way. $250.00 including postage (lower 48).

Your welcome, enjoy.

Kennetrek Desert Guide boots with Superfeet Green insoles. These boots are in excellent condition and have probably less than 20 miles on them. I just like my extremes better. For all intended purposes these are new boots. $290.00 to your door (lower 48).

Boots are SOLD, thanks.

mattnduke, you're first on the list.

I have upgraded to the rangefinder binocular, and am selling my old pair to offset some of the cost. This is a pair of Swarovski 10x42WB binoulars I have used for 4 years. This also includes the Swarovski soft case. An Alaskan Guide Creations harness system. And also the Outdoorsmans tripod adapter with stud installed on the bincocular. Everything is in excellent condition. No scratches or any defects whatsoever. Also a Vellini strap is on the binoculars. Close-up photos of the items in the photo can be e-mailed to you. 1100.00 to your door.

This outfit has been SOLD.

azsugarbear, I'm surprised also. I'm not going lower than 850.00 which includes shipping. If I can't sell them for that price, I'll keep them. I really enjoy the rangefinder model. I thought maybe someone would like to get into premium glass for a reasonable price, while I could recoup some of the rangefinder cost.

Price reduction, $850.00

Has anyone had a skull of your animals dipped in camo or other patterns? Who does a good job? It looks like an interesting process and outcome.
-
Does anyone know the general length of time for a skull by Skullworks?

Sorry wrong price on item. I have several items I'm selling. This item is $900.00 to your door.

Some time back I posted a photo of my NM Black Bear. We ran this bear hard into a rugged canyon bottom. The one thing I remember is that after being bayed at for hours by the dogs, he'd had enough. The moment he turned to fight is etched in my mind. My taxidermist (ACTS Taxidermy in Aztec, NM) captured that moment for me perfectly. I had just turned 70 when that hunt took place, and is a real high for me. The picture quality is not the best (cell phone), but you get the idea. He comes home Wednesday.

My taxidermist finished my NM Black Bear mount. We finally got him home.

Couestracker, we were in quite a rugged canyon and far from the trucks. We took a chest measurement and used the Arizona Game and Fish Weight Estimation Graph for adult Arizona Black bears. He measured 51". Which on the graph is right at 400#. For those interested, the graph is in The Black Bear Field Guide by Al LeCount.
-
One thing I remember is that the bear was really salivating at his mouth when fighting the dogs. I thought the taxidermist did well in reproducing that. It seems to give it just the right look in the mouth. Also his teeth were quite stained.

My fear would be they would become just another general outdoor magazine like the rest. I enjoy the hunt focus they each bring to the table, with just a bit of review and how-to.

JMP, great video. Thanks for posting it. The one thing I appreciate is that you showed the emotional aspect of a succesful hard hunt. A beautiful ram, and a deserving hunter. I once had a guide tell me after I got a little emotional about an animal that I had taken. He said there are people who hunt, then there are hunters. You told that story well amigo, well done.
