    Badlands warenty work

I was wondering if anyone had used the badlands warenty yet. One of The load straps on mine is torn. I took my last one back to sportsmans and they traded it for me there. I took this one back and they said i had to send it in to badlands. My question is how long can i expect to be with out my pack while they fix it. I am just going to use my other hunting pack for the time it is gone, But i will miss it on my back as the other one i have is not as nice to pack around. I am ruff on equipment and that is why i got badlands was for the no fault liftime warenty.

    Lens cleaning

I use the lens pin to brush the grit off then i use the shamy (spelling) cloth they sale at sportsmans to clean it the rest of the way. The brush keeps the grit off the cloth. If any smudges are on the lens then i blow my breath on it and rub it with the cloth. I do not use the end of the lens pin that has the little round peace as it will scratch the lens because it will hold dirt in it.

    bass pro shops

My neighbor has a job there and says they are stocking the store right now. They are waiting on the lower levle inspection to be done and they will start stocking it. The hunting section up stairs is done and ready. They are having three openings. One for the construction crew, One for the employees and family and then the open to public one.
  7. Jim I wear snake gators when prospecting. When i use a detector i have on ear phones. They are a little warm, But when you get used to them they are not bad. I like them more than snake boots just because you can take them off at lunch or when you stop to glass. Most snake bites are from the knee down and on the top of the foot. So if you get gators then get the ones with the foot top protection. They also help protect you from the thorns down that low.

    dogs

I am with Dog man on this one. we have had a few dogs bit by snakes. I have never taken one tyo the vet and they have been ok. They do swell up good in the location and i would guess it could kill them. But i have never seen one of our die. They have all been Work dogs and not any of our hunting dogs.

    "Brown N Proud"

Hey Jim you hit that nail on the head. I have had a dodge diesle for a long time. I baught two of them in 1999 they are both strong running trucks today. I gave the dually to my dad and it only has around 100k on it. Mine has 200k on it and i have only replaced the cluch and the injector pump. But the rest of the truck is starting to fall apart around the motor. And they are the most uncomfortable truck to set your fanny in.

    Hiking gear

Well i am going to be in the market for some new hiking gear. So what do all you back pack hunters use right now. I am looking for a lite weight sleeping bag that will keep me warm enough. Also intrested in what kind of Tent you use for one or two people. What do you use for Sleeping pad. Like do you use a full pad or half pad and what brand you like the best. Thanks evrything i have at this time is old and not what i am wanting anymore. I am all about lite weight and small sizes. I may use the big badlands pack for my pack. The one that has the three in one pack. I am keeping my badlands 2200 for my hunting.

    Hiking gear

I bought the thermorest pad like you guys said above today. I went with a Kellty internal frame pack over the badlands this time. It was about the same thing for 200 less. I am only using it for pack camping and not hunting. I bought a kelty tent that is alot the same as the big agnes. I almost bought the big agnes but chose the kellty. I hope i do not regret it. I also bought the slumberjack sleeping bag. I have heard good reviews on it for the price. And as much as i will use it it should do me just fine. It is a 20 degree bag but i am a hot sleeper. Put me in a mummy bag like this and i am a much hotter sleeper. Any ways keep the info coming as i will still be open to any remarks and help on what else i need. I will just used my head lamps and small LED lights for light. I have a small back pack lantern but do not want the extra weight for the small amount of light it puts out. Amanda thanks for the photos they always help a bunch. AZ P&Y please send some photos and info on your stuff as well.

    Get a rope

I do not think it is an issue having it posted to this site. We all know Chris CHD and know that he is a JACK A$$. We have all had our fights with him. In fact it is scary that he knew as much about my little family while he attaked me in a few posts and mentiond my wife and little girls. He is the same on all the hunting sites he is on. I can tell it is him even if the name does not match just by the way he repeats his self over and over about being Rich and posting photos of huge mule deer. Amanda is tuff enough to let it slide by.
  21. Yess people think I work at the Mesa store because i am there so often. My brother and i have a few gift cards in our wallets but can not decide on what we want to spend them on. I seem to have one or two of evrything already.

    Sway control

OK who here uses a reese dual cam sway control and weight dist hitch. I got one with my trailer and need help figuring it out. I have it all put on the trailer the right way but need help to adjust it right. And the actual head part of the hitch on the truck is brand new and i do not know how it all goes either. I may take it to cliffs welding and see if they can show me how it goes.

    Sway control

I have a Honda ex650 gen right now. I am going to buy a newer gen for my trailer. The 650 worked great for the tent trailers. I am looking at the honda 2000 or the yamaha 2400. My neighbor has the Kipor and it seems nice but i hear they are hard to have repair work done on them. I do not care to run my AC with the gen so even the honda 1000 might would work just fine for me. Yes my fridge is just a two way.I was not sure how safe it was to travle with the gas fridge running but if it is safe i will run it like that after i get the recall fixed on it.

    Sway control

Mike I am going to store my trailer up in forest lakes for the summer, I am planning on having you do the recall repair on my Dometic fridge while we have it up that way. The trailer i have is a R-vision trail lite. I like it alot so far. The only thing i do not like is that i can not run the fridge off of battery while traveling.
  25. that is what i saw all along.
