Its that way at the gun counter, too. They'll have a used gun with a price tag more than the counter 20 yards away brand new. Lol..they also don't know anything about any of the guns they are selling. My buddy was buying a shotgun and he asked the guy about the gun, and all he could say was: "Oh, it's a good gun." Very helpful. Not.

I would start studying the unit now, and start heading up in a few weeks or so (depending on the unit they may not have moved up there quite yet). Definitely look for scat, and also look for a lot of scat underneath a cluster of trees. This usually means it is a roosting spot for the night. They may or may not come to the exact same trees at night, but if they don't they will be very close by. These trees will usually be on some sort of hill. Turkeys like these hills because they can't fly very well, and like to land into the uphill side.

While out with my bow in January I saw a coyote about 100 yards away. I always jokingly will do the back of the hand sucking to make what sound to me like realistic squeals. As soon as I did he came right towards me got to 50 yards and hung up! I didn't want to waste an arrow but if I had a firearm I would of had one! Actually worked for you?? I've heard of guys doing it but I've never tried it. Guess I will give it a try next time I go out!
