Hey guys, I am a Gunsmith in the Verde Valley and in Camp Verde specifically. I work on just about anything but I try to refer the AR platform stuff out to others. Not that I can't work on them I get to busy with other stuff and AR's are usually super easy to work on. I do re-barrels, customs etc. If I can't do it, I will let you know up front but so far in 10 years that has happened once. All my builds use Douglas Barrels on whatever action you want. I prefer Mauser's and Remington or clones but have done several Howa's and Tikka's. Handguns, Shotguns, and Muzzleloaders. I am not a full service Machine Shop but I do make parts if we can't aquire them. I have been doing this about 10 years and my Dad over 40 years and my Grandfather started after WW2 (he passed several years ago). Give me a call if you are up this way and need something. My cell is (928)451-6705 text or call. Green River Gun Works I do not do retail sales (other than actions for builds) and I don't do transfers ( I despise them) and there are others in Camp Verde and Cottonwood that will do them.

Would definitely need to see it but I have repaired a couple. Parts can be difficult to find so sometimes have to make them which can get costly but we would discuss that if that's the case. I will be out of town for the holiday but give me a call next week. 9284516705

Yes give me a call or text i am on a hunt starting Friday and won't be in shop for a week

Typo that is what I get for typing that on my phone instead of a keyboard. Yes I am a resident of 50 years and I meant mid 70's on the horns. Thanks for the reply My Brother just did a bonus point this year. He knew if he got drawn he could not go because of a family commitment he had made out of state. Yeah he is being very picky and I have tried convincing him otherwise but he is more stubborn than I am. His hunt and points so I quit bugging him about it LOL!!

Hey guys, I currently have 28 Points for Antelope. I know it changes it periodically but I have been doing 5A and 4A as 1st and 2nd choice. I know eventually I will get drawn but for the life of me I cannot find the math to figure out my odds per unit. Can anyone help? I don't get frustrated not getting drawn until I hear about someone with less than 10 points getting a tag I applied for. LOL I am 50 so I know sometime, somehow I will get drawn. I know I can go to Wyoming or somewhere and hunt them but I am a Arizona native and would love to get a hunt in my own state. My brother has 29 points for Elk and the funny thing is he did not start putting in the "trophy" rifle hunts until he hit 19 points. Unluckiest guy I know. If you had more than 25 points would you be applying for these units? I don't want to kill just any Buck but I am also not going to point guard if I don't find a monster. I would be perfectly happy with a mid 80 Buck. I built a 6.5-06 8 years ago just for Antelope and will probably shoot the barrel out of it before I get drawn LMAO Anyway, if someone has the math please send it my way. I would appreciate it

I have seen this a few times. The bolt needs refaced, it is not square. A common Rem 700 bolt issue. If the headspace was not right, the brass would bulge or the primer pocket would expand.

I actually looked into this after I retired as something to do. I called a few guys that do load development and reloaded ammo for just a limited amount of people. I did not want to be a full blown commercial operation but keep my customer list around 20 to 30. The insurance alone makes it almost a losing business. Then the Insurance company would not touch me if I was doing it out of home shop without increasing my home owners insurance. I moved on to just gunsmithing

Post Modified...I found powder. Just need the 6.5mm 142 gr ABLR now if anyone has some to trade or is selling.
-
You can ship primed brass, loaded ammo, and powder but not primers. Makes not sense to me either
-
Be careful last I knew it was illegal to ship primers unless you get some certification from UPS or FedEx
-
Would you be willing to meet in Anthem for the RL23? I will PM for further if you are. Im in Verde Valley area
-
Yeah it has gone up I know. Just don't go to auction sites. People paying rediculous money for powder. I have what I need for awhile, this trade is just for a project I want to finish. Im not desperate so willing to negotiate with someone that isn't either.
-
I will work it out if someone wants to trade. But one does usually not pay a hazmat fee from the store. Last powder I bought (R19) from Brunos just before Christmas was $39 with the tax. If shipped, UPS charges the hazmat fee. Thanks for the advice though.

I don't see it yet but about to drive home from work. So will check in a half hour Matt.

I do not know. A buddy of mine did call and they told him it was proprietary information they would not say. The primers I have seen appear to be Federal but I could not say with certainty. Most likely Federal Large Rifle would be my best guess.

I built a 6.5-06 just for Antelope, now I need a tag. 22 BP and still waiting. Been practicing out to 550 yards. Also have a 270 WSM that I took a Muley with at 650 yards a few years ago. Would not hesitate to use that again.
