  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I took them and "trimmed" things down a little. I think it looks much better now. I stare at the thing for hours and I don't see stuff like a "fresh" set of eyes do. Hopefully, things dont get screwed up in the bronze pour, and some of you can see this thing in person at the ADA banquet. Again, thanks>>Jason
  2. Well, here is a picture of the coues deer sculpture I am working on for the auction at the AZ deer association banquet. This picture is not that great, but what do you all think? Any suggestions? I am at the phase where I need to "tighten" everthing up, and fix all the details. The title (I think) is going to be--"The Escape Artist" But, I'm still thinking. We will see how it looks in bronze! So, give me a good old fashioned critique>>Jason

    Hooked in the lip!!!

Took my 9 year old daughter fishing to San Carlos Lake. She was casting, and hooked me in the upper lip (past the barb!) We had to push it through, and the clip the point and barb off in order to get it out!!!! Well, I ended up in Fatfootdoc's office getting a shot. It was not cool. (I think he twisted the needle a little). Tell all your kids to watch out!!!>>>Jason

    Hooked in the lip!!!

We did not have a camera! We did catch some fish, about 200!!!! It was good. I think that is the only thing that made the whole thing bareable. But, I still think the shot was worse. Jacey felt bad when she hooked me, but I think Adam enjoyed sticking me with that needle.

I was there Friday evening and Saturday. I caught at least 50, and my son caught a bunch too! It was awsome. TONS of boats. I counted about 115 boats around us! Crazy!

    Coues Buck Contest

You know, we have some people with writing ability on this forum. It may be cool to make an "arrangement" with one of the big magazines to have a story published about the "winner of the CouesWhitetail.com contest". That would be a cool prize in it's self, AND get us some "face time" with the public. I don't know, just a thought. I have very much enjoyed the contest this year, though. I was proud to be part of it. I want to do another bronze next year.>>Jason
  17. Well, I have the contest bronze DONE!! I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. I talked to jamero tonight, and tomorrow him and crazyaboutcoues are going to check it out in person, so we will see what they think. Here are a few OK photos..... This shows the whole thing. Here is an ok close up of the face and antlers. This is what the custome mesquite base looks like. Sweet Huh?? Well, I hope you all like it! Good luck to all of you guys and gals that are in the running for the contest!!!....Jason
  18. Congrats to the winners. It has been fun being involved in this year's contest. Thank-you Amanda and Doug! This is a great site, and a great bunch of people.

I have the 10x50 Olympic Binos. They are pretty good. A friend who has Zeiss binos looked through them and was impressed. I think that their products are pretty good for the price. But, I own a Zeiss spotter, and know that you get what you pay for. Side by side comparisons on an antelope hunt last fall with Nikons and Leopolds showed a huge difference. The Zeiss was sooooooooooo much better. So, you only cry once when you drop a chunk of change on quality stuff.
