I like the hard sided because it will protect your gun better in a spill.

    ATV LAW

Look at their own publication : http://www.azgfd.gov/pdfs/outdoor_recreati...tv_brochure.pdf It only says that you can't ride double on streets and highways. Then, at the end, they have "OHV Tips" in which they advise that you shouldn't ride double. If a warden gave me a ticket, I would use their own publication in court. It may be a good idea to carry a copy if they make a stink about it. As far as I'm concern after reading this, you can ride double on Federal lands.

    Your First Rifle?

I had my first 30-06 when I was two years old. My dad aquired 3 springfield rifles in the early 60's and sporterized them. It took him a lot of time to do this and they turned out nice. He made one for me and also one each for my two brothers. I still have the rifle and has taken the most game of any of my rifles and its an accurate shooter.

Hard shell scabboard. Open racks subject them to dirt. I carry my guns unloaded so I can't be acused of using a vehicle as an aid.

    ADVICE ON QUADS

I love my quads too, and my duramax diesel, and my jeep. Each one has its advantages and dis advantages. I find the Jeep the most versatile. Ever ride a quad or a rhino when its 14 degrees out? How about going out scouting and you go from place to place and having to go on and off a paved highway. Don't have to trailer it, can if I want to. I guess each to their own.... PS. There is a big difference in the ride of a CJ5 and a coil spring Wrangler....especially if you put on a soft ride Rancho suspension.

    ADVICE ON QUADS

I have laid it on its side once, and one time it went over the top of me, grinding my helmet into a rock in the road. Fortunetly it kept on rolling and didn't stay on top of me. No speed involved, just very steep uneven terrain. I do, and have ridden some extremely rough roads. I've done a lot of riding over the years. If you ride some of the roads like I do, you would fall of yours too,,,,

    ADVICE ON QUADS

Probably not, The one vehicle I use the most is my 97 Jeep wrangler with an automatic transmission. I can drive it on the highway and also offroad. I can take the top and doors off and put it back on when it rains, I can turn on the heater when it gets cold, or the AC when it gets hot. I can throw the wife in the passenger seat and take her along for a ride in the country. I paid $9,000 for this a couple of years ago which would be less than a Rhino. The 97 and newer wranglers have coil springs which ride nice offraod, especially if you install Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. Adjust the shocks down to zero stiffness and you gently bounce over the rocks.

    RHINO'S 4 SALE!!!

Do you finance?? Yes, the financing is handled through Yamaha. There offers change from time to time but it's usually 3mo. 0%, I've seen 6mo. but not for a while. Yamaha Financing is a rip....

    ADVICE ON QUADS

Here's my 2cents from an avid off roader who has been riding these things since they came out with 3 wheelers. *Get a 400 or larger, 250s and 300s are under powered *Get a 4X4, it makes a difference in real rough country *Get one with an automatic tranny with engine braking, ease or riding is nice *Get one with all disc brakes, drum brakes need adjusting *Get one that is about 600 pounds or less in weight *Get one with liquid cooling as they do better in hotter weather I've only owned Hondas and Yamahas, Hondas are solid units but Yamaha has a large selection of different models. This is a sweetheart of a unit, I got one for my wife: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outdoor/produc...36/0/specs.aspx Next thing is dealer selection. You should be able to buy a new one with an out the door price (taxes, freight, licensing, etc) for 10% below the MSRP. My last 3 Yamahas I went up to Mesa to "Champion Yamaha" . Avoid the Motorsports group dealers such as Tucson cycle and Ski.

    30b coues deer

A jeep or other 4X4 can easily get to the basin where the camp is. If you want to go to the top of the peak, then a quad is recomended.

Dragoons are accessable from Middlemarch road including West Cochise, China Camp, and a few other side roads. Theres opportunity there//
  13. Dove starts at the end of next week.. I notice they now have a limit on these Eurasian ringneck doves which kind of blew me away because they are an exoctic species. I shot one last winter, couldn't figure out what it was at first, I thought I shot something that I wasn't suppose to shoot. Has anyone here seen these birds in large numbers??? They are the size of a white wing.

    Murphy's Guns in Tucson

Prince road Jensens is now closed, center fire is taking over that store and Pima will close as soon as they unload what little they have.

    Cabelas or the Sportsmens Warehouse?

Sportsmans since I have one 3 miles away here in Tucson and the prices on guns I think are better. Cabelas is not the discount outlet they use to be since they spend too much money on printing catalogs and postage. Cabelas is nice since you can get things there you can't find anywhere else. Now, will the Phoenix metro area be able to support 3 sportsmans, a Cabelas, and a Bass Pro?????

    Cabelas

Came up from Tucson today/// It's quite a place since they make it a quasi tourist attraction.
