  1. Went to the Sportsmans Warehouse balloon pop event in hopes of scoring big, but ended up getting only 20% off. So instead of passing up the savings I thought I would purchase them and pass them on to a Coues member for what I paid. If no one is interested in them, I will return.

-Brand new in box Swarovski SLC 15x56

    -Swarovski TAs SLC tripod adapter

$2,200 for both. I have my receipt for $2,188. Price is FIRM. Located in Surprise.

  2. Is anyone interested in selling their truck? We are looking for something bigger as our Frontier does not fit our family and gear very well.

Looking to buy a low mileage gas or diesel 1500-2500. Must be crew cab 4x4. Prefer Ford or Dodge, something newer (2012+). Figured I would ask on here before heading to the dealership. That way we can a member can help us out and we can help them out!

If this is not allowed, please feel free to let me know. I will delete promplty. I know it is not “hunting related”, but it will be used on our hunts/adventures.

Well if you want a west side guy,  I think another member on here on the west side was doing them or maybe his son, maybe forepaw or beaton... vaguely remember. I'll see if I can look it up.. sorry if neither of you were it.

But Draysen does very good work and has great prices. Don't be afraid to drive for quality of work to try to safe a few a bucks.

    What your rifle specs?

I wish I could make it out that way, looks like really awesome work. Unfortunately I have to stay close to the homestead today and tomorrow.

My rifle is a Bergara B14 Hunter with a Vortex Viper PST gen ii. It gets the job done, and my wife can shoot it very comfortably as well.

dang those are wicked looking spikes. used to see alot of really talk spikes back in washington around ST helens and goldendale that looked like that

We thought that he was a pretty unique animal. Very grateful to have had the opportunity to harvest him!

  5. Here is our spike, meant to post a pic earlier but couldn’t get it to upload. Glassed him and another bull out about 1 mile away. After hiking some rough terrain we got a nice 400yd shot. Was a great experience. I grew up Whitetail hunting in illinois, so Western big game hunting was a big change. Lots of hiking. Luckily, a good friend of mine came along to teach us the ropes. Learned alot, made great memories, and put meat in the freezer.

I also forgot to mention that we live in the west valley, so we are hoping to find someone around here to do our mount. Thanks again guys!

  6. Good afternoon Coues Whitetail,

We shot our first Elk today and just finished quartering and deboning. Not a trophy by any means, but a very respectful spike.

I am looking for someone to do a basic Euro for us. I was told that there was a young man on here that did good Euro mounts. Not sure on his name or contact info. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. (602) 999-3180.

  7. Thank you all for the great advice. Definitely going to try and make sure my wife is the warmest. Happy wife, happy hunt!

    Our tent is a Eureka 4 person A-frame. (here is a link:  https://shop.opticsplanet.com/eureka-timberline-4-tent-green.html?_iv_code=155-TBK-EUR-78006&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=CjwKCAiAkan9BRAqEiwAP9X6Uet7YniGzPxA2REse0s13cZaBuW1qxmLOtQPFMtKFVSjdAGtqDNolRoCPmEQAvD_BwE )

I have owned it since my boy scout days, and it has served us very well. Although, the cold weather was a lot more bearable when I was a scout living in the cold Midwest. This Arizona weather has thinned my blood! A canvas tent would seem to do a better job of holding in the heat.

  8. Hi all,

I am going on my first ever Elk hunt with my wife at the end of the month in 6a. We do not have a trailer so we will be tent camping.

I would like to gather some tips and tricks for cold wether camping. Unfortunately I have lost some of my memories of cold weather camping in the boy scouts as a kid in the midwest.

Any tips would be helpful to help make our first Elk hunt an enjoyable one!

    Thanks,

     -Mike
