Thanks for the comments. I never gave up on the hunt becuase anything can happen on a coues hunt. My buddy took 12 shots not me but a had a tough time as well I took a 304 yard bedded shot when I should have waited. I got him in the neck and he just got up and walked over the saddle. I ran over their to find the buck and doe staring at me 150 yards. One shot dropped him without a kick. The lion tags were free with the d-west jan tag. But they forgot to put mine in the mail. My buddy got his. I am happy I shot this buck because honestly, this was my hardest hunt ever. thanks for reading.

Hey, If you find the does you will find the bucks. Last year around Roosevelt the mulies weren't rutting until the later part of Dec all the way into the first week into Feb. I have video of a nice 3x3 with a doe Feb 8th this year. He was running her down and holding on to her. Best chance is to spot and stalk or get near the does and you'll get a chance at a buck.

to bad I didn't get a tag this year. I had those suckers in my lap 2 morinings in a row. The double is neat looking, but not hardly any mass. Short tined bulls this year in that area around my cams. Last year I video taped an 8x6 chasing 3 cows with radio collars around their necks. He had big mass all the way past the royals. Maybe next year.

Some pics of 2 of my cams near payson. Notice the bull with 2 main beams on the left side. other bull was tearing up a pine tree 5 feet from my cam. And some turkies in there too.

I can't say that this was an accident and he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. The guy was on duty. thats what tow truck drivers do. The guy that discharge the rifle was an IDIOT. Pure stupidity and carelessness to check and see if the gun were loaded or not. Isn't checking the chamber the first thing drilled into your head when ever picking up a firearm. At least thats what I was taught. Hes got to live with the fact that he killed a human being for being careless and a family has to suffer being he was providing for his family.

Hey thats a great looking skull mount. I got a muley in Utah this year but the head would't fit in the freezer. Bummer. Well it looks great.
-
Hey Tim gets some binos and a spotting scope. Head up a dirt road. pull off and walk up a hill and sit down and glass untill your eyes burn. Thats the only way to find out where the deer are. Nobody in here will give up a deer spot. Its the competition nobody wants. Good Luck. Hope I don't sound rude, but thats what everyone is thinking

I had 3 flats in Utah a coupl of weeks ago. Soon as I got home I went to a smaller rim(had 20's) on my 06 ram. I bought 17's with Good Year Silent Armor there 9 ply on top and 6 ply on sidewalls. I had them on my chevy, never had a flat in 2 years. I have had them on san carlos, utah in the shale, and all around Roosevelt, never a problem. -
Its a good Idea to hold off until it cools off. If your seeing that many does there will be bucks around. Just be patient when glassing. Remember to be as quite as possible when sneaking in their first light. They can hear really good and there more alert in thick cover. Good luck

I know how you feel. But its probly not antis. Antis don't spend alot of time out in the woods, only when the seasons come around, when they go out to spook off all the animals. Its probly some competition. Someone saw your spot and thought it looked good so they hid the salt block a little farther douwn the trail and set his stuff up. You'd be suprised what non ethical un sportsmanlike people will do. Exspecially when they haven't had someone to teach them the does and don'ts of the unwritten law of hunting and scouting!
