    Camp Axe or hatchet advice?

Hello Fellow Sportsmen and Women, I’m looking for advice on a solid camp axe/hatchet. Would prefer it to be made here in the USA, but those seem to be tough to come by. Looked at a Swedish made axe by the name of bruks, but man they sure are proud of them! I don’t mind doing the last 10% of the refinements necessary to bring an axe up to 100%, just want it to be solid/well made from head to tail to begin with. Preferably a hickory or ash handle. And to have the steel to hold an edge. And I want NOTHING made in the CHICOM nation either. Any help or advice is much appreciated! Bill

    Ft. Huachuca Coues

Steve, I am local here. 2nd week of this hunt is best as training activities will be low, thus more open areas. Download Fort Huachuca off Avenza maps (isportsman) if you haven’t already. Call or shoot a text tomorrow and we can discuss some of the areas that produce decent deer. 520-two six six-1312. bill

    Camp Axe or hatchet advice?

ALYUAZ-Thank you for posting this. In looking at the hatchet, it appears that it will meet my expectations, and it won’t break the bank (especially so close to Christmas) either! 😀. I think that this is the one I’ll go with. Still planning to take Edge’s class in the spring too! bill

    Camp Axe or hatchet advice?

Edge, Thank you for the information and link. I have always had an interest in blacksmithing/forging ever since I was a kid. I remember going about my chores and watching as the farmer repaired or fabricated using heat, anvil, and hammer. I knew then that it was both art as well as hard work, but still always wanted to try my hand at it. Then the Army got in the way and I got good at breaking stuff with a hammer…..but not much else. 😂 I’ll take you up on the offer to learn and will contact you via the link. Thank you, bill

1.5 on both the Buck and the pig. Agree with Ed67, they’ll flat out fly great. Neither bled much. But they didn’t go far either. 😀 Good luck on your hunt. Bill
  9. https://www.outdoorlife.com/conservation/mike-lee-new-land-sale-provision/ Randy Newbergs updated take on the Lee proposed changes. He is correct…..straight up dog dookie. Just when I thought that I couldn’t be shocked again by our political leadership, a guy from Utah of all places goes off the rails and does this. How fantastic an understanding of his constituents he must enjoy! Both the House and the Senate here in Arizona must “Hear us loud and clear”! Hooper-OUT
