Does anybody have information on this shoot? I want to make it to this shoot. jason
-
Out of Four of us we knocked down 2 piggies on Sat. those were the rifle hunters... Then the weather got REAL NASTY... I have not filled my tag yet but I am trying to get one with a bow... Hopefully the weather will get better and I can get out.. jason
-
Have the fun is finding a bow that shoots well for you.. Go out and try them all... I shoot a Hoyt but I have been thinking about shooting a Switchback... jason

I used a Scott little bitty goose... I love it.. I have the velcro BUT I would get a strap... I would think that the strap would be alot more consistent and there would be no variation in you draw length. I would also think that I also be alot quiter and less bulky. jason

Great Job... jason

After seeing the stunts that the RMEF has pulled with the HH ranch in NM I am no longer a memeber.... If you ever want to hunt that ranch you have to have MAJOR cash... and if you shoot something that does not live up to there standards you get FINED Big time.... I am personally starting to look into NWTF. Most if not all of there money goes back into habitat. I also like an organization called www.huntfairchase.com jason

1)Get a long string... 2)Tie one end to you boots 2)Tie the other end to a piece of Fried Bolney to it... It has to be fried or this trick will not work.... 3) Walk up the nearest trail that has alot of yuppie hikers... Becareful not to talk to them because it will be considered baiting.. 4)Find a good tree to hide in.... 5) Get a Clean Tampon and dip it in Pachulie(Spelling) Oil.. The Lion will think it is a Grundge Boat Hippe. Easy picking... They are kinda scrony with no meat but they will do because they are so passive 6) Every 10 min. shake your Jason Amaro Lion Call.... It looks like a little Cow Bell... the lions will think it is one of Scotts goats or one of my old girlfriends that is still wearing the dang jewerly I bought her... 7) If that call does not work, eat one of Crazyaboutcoues bean burritos the night before the hunt... Hold all your gas until you are in the stand... You can mimic a grunt call by not squeezing the cheeks... OR you can mimic a squealing rabbit by squeezing your cheeks real-hard and slowly letting the gas fly.... PS: Don't try this is a pop-up blind or someone will mistake it for a Native Cerimonial Smoke house.. But the smoke will be green, not white. PSS... If you are wearing scent blocker BE VERY CAREFUL when you take off your cloths... Creating a spark could be VERY Hazzardous 8)Sit and wait!!!! jason

PS... I shot Beman Matrix arrows.... They are the Beman equivalent to Easton ACC's... they were discontinued so I pick up a few dozen for $50/dz jason

I pratice out to 80 yards... I would never take a shot that long but after shooting 80yards all day the 40 yard shots feel easy... I think some people call it doubling... practicing at twice the hunting distance.. jason

Did you guys see the episode of Antler King last night on the Mens Channel??? This guy arrow a 90+ inch coues and HAD NO CLUE WHAT HE HAD DONE... It was a really nice buck..I must admit it kind of bugged me because he was so matter a fact about it... Jason

Landowner Tags being discussed this week.
jamaro replied to GhostBuster's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Not only USO but all outfitters and the Ranchers are going to make some cash off this deal.... I wonder if the total number of tags will increase or if the tags that are availble to public draw will decrease... Any Ideas.. jason -
HOLY SMOOLLY that is nice.. great job. jason

Is this for ALL animals??? Including, Elk? jason -
The K-mart in Deming, NM is also having some blow-out sales... I picked up a bunch of stuff and great prices... Man, I feel like I robbed the bank... everything was 75% off.. I think what happened is that the K-mart ordered the regular eastern whitetail gadgets but everybody around here chases mulies.. SOOO... I got all kinds of scent killer, scents, scent dispensors FOR NOTHING... Man, It Rocked... I also got a bunch of camo boxers from wal-mart in silver city last week... jason

Happy Birthday... jason -
AG I promiss you the words were all good. It is too bad about those dang dogs... We heard them signin all night where we were camping... It is crazy. Have you chased song dogs in the past? We usually hunt south of the Burros... Ahh.. those good ol' CEU's... I once had a client describe to me medically how a elk he shot died.. I think my head was spinning for about a hour... You guys should do a javelina hunt... those are FUN and low stress... maybe you guys could have a competion for the biggest stink pig... Whoever wins does not have to eat the sucker... I agree they are tight on the coues tags but I don't think that there are very many dedicated whitey hunters... the other day in camp we came up with less than 50... SOOO there is hope.. That smokepole hunt could be great... they are usually still going off during that hunt and if the weather is warm you can catch them at tanks... jason
-
WOW.. That is too crazy.. Good luck next year jason

Lets see.. I have seen deer everyday.... I am pretty much hunting anything with big horns... My coues deer saddle is pretty slow.. It does not look like anything has cross the saddle in a long time.... So I ended up chasing muleys in the rolling hills... I found a 160 class muley that I am going to try to stick... he is 26 wide.. Pretty tall and has deep forks... I have been on him once but each time he bobs when I weave... I was within 35 yards of him and his does and Sat. I followed his does all day of Sun., I never saw him on Sun... Monday I let him rest... I am going to spend the rest of the hunt trying to catch up to him. It has been crazy warm so I think it has really slowed things down. jason

HOLY COW... It looks like a canoe might not be any good... Look at this news clip http://www.thenewmexicochannel.com/news/4051953/detail.html Don't show it to your wife... I would look around Elks Pasture... Cover country and HAVE FUN... Jason

Kevin.. How long are you going to be out? We might come back on Tues evening to refocus... PM me for my cell... Maybe we can touch base... Are you going to be tenting it? or Camper? Give me your info and you can give my cell to someone in case something goes down.. jason
-
Well it did rain all of Monday and Tues.. it snowed in town last night but for the most part it is melted.... They closed the West Fork and some of the Gila Monument area... The "little" creek in santa clara was raging last night.. here is a little news snippet.. http://www.scsun-news.com/artman/publish/article_3470.shtml Here is what the weather channel says... http://www.weather.com/activities/other/ot...?locid=USNM0205 It looks like it is going to start to clear... We saw some muley bucks starting to rut a few weeks ago... Also, here at Fort Bayard all of the coues does on the hospital grounds have bucks with them.... None of the bruisers have shown up... I think we are going to hit it just right... I could totally be wrong but I have hope. Are you going to do spot and stalk or sitting? How long are you going to be in the mountains? Did you draw for Stink Pigs? Good Luck Jason

Nice... Great job... jason
