Congrats again Kade! Reminds me of my first buck, looked almost identical to yours. Way to go Tim, it just doesn't get any better then that.

Got out to check the cameras this weekend and had a few new visitors. Some welcome and some not so welcome! Was really happy to see how many acorns were spread across the ground and can't wait for the upcoming season.

Congrats on a great buck!

That's a heck of an accomplishment. Nice job!

That buck is just a Baby! Great genetics!! Good work Phil, congrats on the pics and thanks for sharing them! Yeppers, I'm after his daddy! The area has some great genetics and there seems to be a dominant four point gene in the area. A couple of years ago I took a young four by four that scored right at 101" and was still a young buck. We'll see what this year brings.

Good luck! Looking forward to the pictures and stories from this years hunt! -
Congratulations on a couple of great bulls! Sorry that you couldn't find your bull but that's the way it goes sometimes. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.

It all depends upon the set up and what is available but if possible I prefer to have them around 7 to 8 feet off of the ground to eliminate false triggers and it also helps prevent things tampering with the camera.

I got my information all emailed off so I hope I am still one of the first ten. I would really like to try it out on the 6.5x20x50 that I have. Thanks DB for posting the link. While doing the range tests with the chrono I was really surprised to find out exactly how fast my different loads were flying, the results were totatlly opposite of what I had been thinking they were.

I got to spend some time up north helping out a buddy try and fill his archery tag. Rut had camp all set up and ready to go by the time I got there so all we had to do was find a bull that our friend would like to go after. Two days before the hunt we found a really good bull and the bar was set, unfortunately that would mean that a lot of great bulls would get passed up. Even though we had some really close calls we just didn't have any luck getting in close on the big guy. Due to work I had to come home early this week and wouldn't you know it the day I left they closed the gap on a great bull and even got a shot, a missed shot but a shot none the less. With setting the bar as high as we did on this hunt what happened is just the way it works out more times then not when trophy hunting and it's tag soup for our buddy. There is no regrets and nothing left on the table.....just some great memories and the hopes of a tag for one of us next year. Got to love spending time in the woods with the elk and enjoying the awesome company of friends. I have a ton of video that I'll be editing for quite some time but I thought I would post up some clips of a few of the bulls we passed up. DG Bull CC Bull LB Bull H Mud Baby.
